I'm not going to question Brett here. I think he is genuine, that he really wants to be out on the field with Bart. During his time in Green Bay, I think Bart meant a lot to him.

I will say this, he doesn't want to make the return alone. If he walks on the field with Bart, he isn't going to have anything near the negative reaction he would if he went alone. I am sure that is part of his thinking. I can't blame him, and I think that is why the Packers originally wanted both out together. The negative reaction will be more of the story than anything else. It is obvious everyone is trying to move on though. It will be a nice moment, but first and foremost lets hope Bart gets better. I think it is a good move by Brett and the Packers to delay it.

BrINT calling it off is showing how afraid he is to be there alone and getting booed.

First of all, get well soon Bart.

I saw a suggestion that Brett show up anyway, but wear a #15 jersey as a tribute to Starr. Thought that was a good idea, but it would be even better if they postpone it until Bart is able to attend.

That was my first thought too when I read something about it.

Still disinterested....show up, don't show up... whatever... Go Pack!!!!!

Individuals come and go... the Packers keep running out on to the turf at Lambeau Field. No animosity toward Favre but then, I don't idolize players and therefore, am immune to some of the "butt-hurt" that those who aren't dealing with this drama too well are suffering through. ;) just saying...

Rumor has it that they were going to get into a passing contest with one receiver and a defender.
BrINT was afraid he would have lost to Bart in that one! LOL

I have my own issues with Brett, and hate a lot of what he has done.. I find it very odd that a few posters here are a little immature and not use his real name..

Not that it is a huge deal, but It is odd

Guilty.
I have no problem with admitting that I act immature and have fun with words and names!
Is Brett flip flopping AGAIN?
I wonder if waffles is on the menu in his steak house?

Apparently this was all Brent's idea.
I dunno why he all of a sudden felt this urge to return to Lambeau.
I'm not at all familiar with modern ex-superstar QBs making appearances with another one from the past.
Just seems weird that he is going to just show up when it's not a special occasion.
Is that normal in other team's stadiums or was this a unique appearance?

To bad about Starr' declining health AND the delay of Favre's return to Lambeau (both inevitable). A pair of true Packer legends, it would have been fabulous to see them honored together, two guys who created so many thrills for Packer fans walking out onto the file together. Sure there will be some idiots acting like idiots in the stands, who cares?

If I were at the ceremony of Favre's return, I'd be telling every fan around me to cheer him on and not boo him at all. I mean yeah, I admit the years of his prime saw him make a lot of bad decisions in various games such as 2001, 2002, and 2003 playoff games, though some of those bad later years can certainly be pinned on Mike Sherman as well. And certainly I labeled him the traitor when he went to Minny and even laughed when he threw that pick down in New Orleans, and him catching the flack he did from us while he was still playing QB for them was well warranted. And obviously that sexting scandal tarnished him even more. But right now, I say we bury that football and give him a warm welcome back.

Remember, we have the privilege of being 1 of only 2 teams in this league who have had only 2 QBs as the starters in a span of about 22 years. The other team of course is the New England Patriots from Bledsoe to Brady. But yes since 1992, only 2 QBs have rotated through these doors, excluding the few games Rodgers didn't start due to injury, but think about it, 22 years while so many other teams have had to struggle to find their man during that time. And we owe our thanks to Brett Favre for much of that.

Remember, we are living in privileged times as Packer fans, some of you need to keep that in mind before you complain about or smear former QBs, coaches, GMs, or whoever. Because you don't know when it can all change. This decade looks good, but the next one could be a decade of change that may be bad. But that being said, hope both Brett and Bart can make it onto the field this year and represent our proud legacy of QBs.

My whole memories of watching Packers football has been with Brett. He never cheated the game, was always an honest guy and did wonders for Green Bay. I'll always be a huge fan. I can see why people would be disgusted by the way he acted on the way out, but he never did anything awful (well besides **** pics...). I'm not one to hold grudges, be vengeful, etc.

The fact people make insults out of someone's name is hilariously immature. Sad. Lowest form of insult, IMO. Get over it.

Just to clarify, the whole thing with the "reporter"(?)/premium box "escort"(?) who had her fake breasts removed so she would be taken more seriously as a "reporter" never panned out to be anything more than tabloid B.S. The league investigated and found NOTHING, say again NOTHING. Did Favre stray....I don't know, I know Paul Hornung doinked a lot of married women but hey..... That's different right??? Anyhow the whole thing about Favre and "**** pics" is a whole lot of unsubstantiated innuendo.

Cheated? We dont truly know-- did he do roids? Or hgh? We can say we HOPE he didnt...

Yes did wonders, no doubt..

Honest?

That would be my biggest issue with him.. This is just one example

Look at the dates of these two..

It isnt just him changing his mind... He called it a bribe a week or so later after saying it wasnt a bribe

http://m.jsonline.com/sports/blogs/31948684.html

Favre acknowledged that the money being offered by Packers president Mark Murphy was not in exchange for him not to report to training camp. He said that has been incorrectly portrayed in some media reports

"Then," Favre said, "they tried to buy me off to stay retired."
