It is what it is. But that was a crunch time kick that was very makeable. If we were to make the playoffs this year it would be a killer.
Yeah good point and now that I look back, it would have put the Packers within a field goal of winning instead of needing a TD and maybe Love doesn't get hurt. OK those are just assumptions but kicks from 43 really should be routine for an NFL kicker. I'm not gonna make any excuses for him. Rookie, lousy field, new to the team, so what? Gotta make these kicks.

Yeah, I felt bad for the kid because prior to that Mason-esque moment, his kicks were dead center which really made my heart sing. I believe we've got our guy though - and as you say, "Gotta make these kicks".

He does look like the real thing. Every kick was down the middle except the last kick, the one he needed to make. I think he'll be fine. And yeah, we got spoiled cause Crosby was great on high-pressure kicks. On to the Colts.

Met Braydon Narveson at an event for NC State's NIL collective last year, along with some other state players including Payton Wilson. As an NC State alumnus and current employee of the university, it's cool to have a player from my school on the Packers.

His wife and her family are from Wisconsin and are Packers fans.

I remember hoping that the Packers would draft Chris Dunn, also from NC State, who was one the top kickers in college football, but they drafted Carlson instead.

Hopefully he can be the kicker long term, I think he can be.

That’s a cool connection. BN approaches his work with a lot of confidence. Thats important for everyone, but esp a specialist where the chances are few but all important. And yeah, I think he’ll have a great career in GB.

Yeah in retrospect it probably wasn’t a game decider. No miss is good. That said the best miss is a Crossbar. If the Kick was inside 40 it makes it. I guess I’m more worried if he misses by a yardstick +
I noticed the other kicks he had split the uprights.
It’s week 1, so I give players a little more leash. He didn’t have any trouble driving KO into the paint. He split the uprights on the others. His 1 miss barely faded last second and was <1ft from a XPM.

Especially in September when the climate is mild. And if we made that 2 pointer the game is 34-31 Pack and the Eagles play that last drive a little differently. They would not be milking as much clock and likely try going to the air to get in the end zone. And with 2 picks I would take my chances with Hurts rather than Barkley.

There is a difference for young kickers when things are going the team's way and when they are not. Had we capitalized early with a TD or two Narv would not have felt the pressure and he know he can sweeten the lead.

I forgot about that missed two pointer - and yeah that would have made it a 3-point game. Geez just about any team should be able to pick up one yard.

Oh well, the Eagles outplayed the Packers. It was a disappointing start, especially with Love's injury (and that probably doesn't happen if it's a 2 or 3 point game, whatever......). The team has the talent to bounce back, and the schedule is relatively easy.

Unfortunately, without Love it weakens our chances of beating even the lesser opponents. This will be a test for MLF. MM did not fare well in games without Rodgers and it cost us at the end of the season. The Bears played miserably on offense yesterday. Yet their D and ST went out and won it. When was the last time that happened for the Packers?

I watched most of the Bears/Titans game. Yeah the Bears were very opportunistic on D and STs. I don't remember the last time the Packers won like that. Hell Williams didn't even get past the 100 yard mark in passing. But a win is a win, and the Packers need one of those this Sunday.

I already have slightly more confidence in him than Anders gave me...so now the next few weeks will confirm that or twist the dial of confidence up even higher.

Not only the Bears but the Steelers won with defense. Look what they did to the great Kirk Cousins. They made the Falcons look like they still had Ridley under center. Our D needs to take over a game at some point and win one as well. Or two.

I could not believe LaFleur took that point off the board. And getting two at the time was inconsequential and we were not going anywhere at that time against their D line. just did not understand that.

This is when some coaches do not measure their Mano a Mano. Last night the Lions drove 70 yards on the ground in OT. They knew their ground game at that point was strong enough to trample the Rams. MLF has to realize there is a difference when it comes to opponents. If it was Carolina, maybe? He thinks his OL and his backfield is better than they are. Well, some defenses are better than you think as well.

Yeah and there's that unwritten rule - never take points off the board. And as you say, the Packers were getting nowhere running into the heart of the Eagles's DL. At least MLF could've gotten creative. Just a bad move at that point in the game.

Clock Mgmt in the 1H was even worse than it's been in the past. That has to get corrected.

OK I'm done ranting...... for now.

They are expecting him to play but what dies that mean? Too late to activate a kicker. Boy, we have had some bad luck. When your offense does not have the passing guns you will need FGs and PATs. Just hope we do not suffer the fate of the Giants and lose the game because of no kicker.

OS remind me of what happened to the Giants.

FWIW I trust Narvesson more than Carlson.

We also need to give a little leeway to Narvy because of his short span of time working with his holder and kicker. He has the leg to do it, and as evey kicker before him will tell you, it takes time to catch on to the swirling winds that you see so often around the Green Bay end zones. If anyone can attest to it, that would be Crosby.

He's stated that in pregame, while kicking in practice, he realizes that the ball will move from either left to right, or right to left. But, that it can change regularly.

Nothing pointed it out more to him than the fact he was positive that what would have been the FG to tie the Cardinals in the playoffs was "positively" going to fall off right to left, so he planted and kicked it to go just inside the right upright. But, Mother Nature had changed things, and that swirling wind lifted the ball to the right, and it sailed to the right, as a missed kick.

Before this season is over, there's a good chance Narvy will have kicked one close to 60 yards. By the way, I think the record is 58 yards, but didn't look it up.

I think he’ll be fine. Sounds like a minor injury but the last thing we need is a distraction for our K. Sometimes players play better when they aren’t supposed to or expected to. A Rodgers would do that a lot.
Lets hope Narvy falls into suit.

Former Packer kicking option, Greg Joseph, was signed to the NYGiants 53 from the Lion's PS last week. Missed (badly) his only attempt from 48 yds with 3 minutes left, which didn't change the outcome (Giants still won). Appears Gute made the right decision getting Narveson, but he needs a couple of 100% accurate games to remove the naysayer pressure.

No one, and I mean no one, is beating out the Narv Dawg. You have to let him eat!

They could have used him against Washington when they lost because their kicker went down.

Austin Siebert was available until Week 2 and is still perfect on FGs and XPs.
