I like the Diggs signing. I think maybe there’s some natural internal increased speculation because of what just happened with Jaire and obviously none of us want another JA 2.0 with how he ended.

I think Diggs is a low risk high reward player. If he simply doesn’t pan out he’s a fraction of any Cap used. Really an under the radar signing. Frankly I can’t believe a player of Diggs magnitude is even waived before the season is over. The timing of this is exponentially perfect for GB imo. The fact that David Mulghetta is his agent and ties to GB is a perfect setup.

Now I’m not even positive this is a move for 2025. This could be more generated as an early move for the 2026 season and locking him gives GB a first right of refusal type play. Particularly if he’s deemed 100%.
Any 2025 just being bonus film for observing his status forward.

I will say this again, we know Diggs production tanked in 2025. But, it’s also a 7.5 game sample there. The Partial season could very well be a relative anomoly if he wasn’t fully healed up. Along with known changes with the Dallas Defense, who wasn’t very good at generating any pass rush through the first 7-8 games.

It’ll be interesting to see contract details or if he’s going to actually play again this season or we just hold him for a 2026 contract.

My gut antennae is saying Diggs isn’t as bad off as Jaire was.

Why would you ask me a question on a particular player and then if you don’t like the answer claim I said he’s our savior, which I never said?

and the super strange part. Why would you ask me if you already knew the answer? A true smh move

I was responding to your post of:
Hoping we get Brinson Back also. I see Warren B. as a smidge better DL with a dash of Pass Rush mixed in and better pursuit speed for a big man.

You said "get Brinson back", I assumed that he had been back, but thought you may know something about an injury. I also wasn't sure, so I looked up his snap counts for my 2nd reply.

You were talking about improving the DL and implying Brinson might help. I disagreed.

Sorry if I struck a nerve, wasn't intending to.

It is worth a try. Who knows? A new home may get him pumped.

I gotcha. np.
Well I know none of us appreciated last week at DT. I actually did see a late article claiming he was a late inactive, which obviously was wrong but it was towards the beginning of the game so normally it’s like the weather real time or hard to mess it up. Then I had looked up production after the game on ESPN and his name wasn’t listed. Then I looked to PFR (but I think they get their info from other sources like ESPN) and he had 0-0-0-0-0-0-0 . … . … that’s each production field and blanks for snap counts. That was a day after the game. So naturally one would think he didn’t play. In fact he did play but he recorded zero stats
I think you’d admit that it’s a relative anomoly that a DT plays any meaningful measure of snaps without registering a single stat. So that’s my fault for assuming he didn’t play based on misinformation and no information. Today it shows his snap counts.

To be abundantly clear, I don’t think there’s any 1 player fix solution to what we witnessed. Matter of fact, just the opposite. Of 4 DT to finish the game, 3 of the 4 recorded career high snaps. 56,52,34 snaps. One player was injured 14 snaps and another was his debut 11 snaps.
That personnel or scheme is NOT an ideal Lineup to Defend the #1 team in the NFL per rushing attempt with probably the Top power RB and a very capable Rushing QB in Huntley. All that against an Offense employing regular, 6 OL, JUMBO packages.

With 53 Runs, we needed 6 DT (or 5 that can play at least 35+ snaps at minimum) PLUS 1 more LB activated who is equipped to play Run stop. Preferable a 240lb + thicker LB who’s got a pop like Oliver. Using a 5-3-3 or with 1 LB fully committed to the RB running straight at him on every last play. Another LB staying lateral on Huntley as a Spy and immediately Downhill the second he tucks it to meet him head on near LOS. Completely commit to the run and make them pass more.

I appreciate having some size at CB again. Diggs is 2” taller and 10lb heavier than Valentine. I think he is officially our biggest DB next to Safety Kitan Olodapo. (6’2” 216lb)

My guess is that Love will be inactive as well. Won't be surprised if Watson, Reed and Doubs sit too.

I think we will see the bottom of the roster playing most of the snaps against Minnesota. However, much like preseason games, that isn't going to tell us that much.
I’m sitting all the starters on offense and playing the starters on defense. Let Diggs get acclimated to playing with the starters for the whole game. He gets hurt…he gets hurt. Defense needs some momentum heading into playoffs.

Where you been? That happened smartly when it looked possible neither Willis or Love could be available. Not a good QB, but experienced and looking for a home, you can do FAR worse for your QB4

The Packers have done far worse with their QB2's pre-Willis days.

As you correctly alluded to when Ridder was signed, I think this is more of a signing towards the 2026 season. With Willis gone, the Packers will need a capable backup and why not get Ridder into "camp" early and see what he has.

While I haven't looked at similar lists for the other 31 teams, my guess is that it isn't that different from team to team. Obviously, losing Kraft and then Parsons were 2 huge hits for the Packers, but I would guess other teams have lost impactful players as well.

Thank you for putting that together.

No need to thank me, but you are welcome. ;) Was a simple cut and paste from an article I saw.

@tynimiller is the real hero here. He spends countless hours in and out of the locker room, talking to coaches, scouts, players, combing waiver wires and numerous hours on the phone and his computer to keep tabs on the Packers current and future roster!

Yes, maybe it is the hits to key players/positions that is so depressing.
