Thought it was head butting.
Pretty much was and intentional. The Defender should make a reasonable attempt to avoid a head to head contact. Now had the D turned his head and led with his chest or shoulder into the chest area it’s a totally different story. That or if he made any attempt at avoiding the helmet to helmet (such as turning it to the side to avoid) and then Love happens to crouch or tuck to that same side and it’s clearly incidental contact? I’d even pick the flag up.

If they allow an intentional and clear pathway to a helmet to helmet collision while standing, then they should open it up to spearing and throat punching and body slamming and stomping on his throat. Might as well make the assault with an intent to injure worth the penalty and suspension snd fines. Just end it with a Karate like throat punch

Exactly what I saw. The Bears Board was trying to justify it saying “Jordan Tucked and it was his fault for getting hurt. Which is ridiculous. Then “it was such a legal hit it’s actually how football should be coached”. Which when I read that I saw through all the lies and deceit.
In actuality the Bears Defender should’ve received at minimum an ejection warning. Plus imo a 1-2 game suspension and healthy $75,000 fine if it was his first attempt to disable a player. If he had priors, I’d throw another 1-2 games suspended and double his fines with a strict warning that 3X is season over.

Yup and something else that I noticed, but would love to see it from other angles, is that Love appeared to already be in the grasps of another Bear defender, Gervon Dexter, when Booker came in head first and hit him high.

BTW, both Kinnard (blocking Booker) and Belton (blocking Dexter) were completely manhandled on that play.

Bo Melton headed to the IR

Damn, there goes our best backup CB that has yet to play a snap on defense. :coffee:

I know some won't like me saying this, but I think Bo is possibly the most overrated, overly talked about, player on the roster. I got tired of announcers talking about how he plays multiple positions; CB, WR and returner. Sure, he practices as a CB, but hasn't played as one. As far as his WR and return abilities, meh.

I really get the sense that he was a guy who was really well-liked by everyone and as such they went to great lengths to try and make it work...

Seems like we get that type of guy in the mix every now and then. Not really worth a ton on the field, but maybe they feel like the "locker room presence" or whatever makes it worth it, I guess

Just piggybacking on those players. If Zach Tom is truly back and healthy, this is a huge factor for us as he missed the 2nd Chicago Bears game.

He’s arguably our best OL and he would likely replace our worst backup off that list.

The most I want to see Kinnard is as a 6th OL in a jumbo package.

You know ... Willis comes in and gets hurt against the bears... He might want to consider embracing the back up role on a super bowl caliber team. Play a loooong career, and be appreciated for what he does now. Rather than risk taking on more and failing. He could be out of the league a lot sooner, if things don't go as he hopes.

That drop on his shoulder was dirty. Anyone would've been injured. But he might want to think about ignoring the talking heads, and stay where he is at. All things considered.
I know what you are saying but I suspect players want to go where they can start and Willis knows Love is our starter. I hope he finds success somewhere in the AFC and secures a comp pick for us.

I don't think it really is that "arguable."

Right! He's not even our best Offensive lineman I'd argue he is our 5th best/most crucial player on our roster.

And since I know that claim will be met with folks wondering who I have 1-4:

Love - most crucial position on the field of course
Parsons - don't need to explain hopefully.
Kraft - he really is a top3 TE in the league and looked to be working towards tops, everything offensive runs better when he is out there.
Xavier McKinney - He is respected so much by opposing teams gameplans it is CRAZY
Zach Tom

I felt the defender didn't let up on putting all his weight on top of Willis when taking him to the ground. Not sure if you could call it dirty, but we have seen where they have flagged that play numerous times in the past, when done vs QB's.
Not if he was considered a runner. Which he might gave been. I didn't see it as dirty either.

Personally, I didn't find the hit on Willis dirty at all. Now Jordan Morgan's attempted "block" of Montez Sweat, who put the lick on Malik, was downright pathetic and should go on every offensive line coaches reel for "This is how you get your QB killed."

The dirty hit by the Bears, was actually on Jordan Love by Austin Booker. Booker lead with his helmet and no Bear fan is ever going to convince me that he wasn't going for Jordans head and neck area.
I agree with something you have said previously. That if a player knocks another player out of a game from a personal foul; that player should also have to leave the game.

I feel bad that Jerod Bush never received such notoriety.

Yes o was thinking about this recently. Then the Flagged player should Sit out the following game if the injured player misses any time due to that injury. Such as Jordan Love missing a game for a concussion.

I saw where someone said Jaylin Simpson played badly or maybe he just got a bad grade. But I thought he looked pretty good. It will be interesting to me if he suits up.

I’m not sure. I do remember him getting 2 flags (1 PI enforced) on 1 play. Which is hard to do!

Obviously this was a debut last week, but He didn’t play well. He played by62 Snaps on Defense and 9 Teams snaps.

He was targeted 8 times and allowed 5 catches for 60 yards and had 8 Tackles so they either picked on him or he’s very active. He also recorded 1 missed tackle.

What’s odd is he has more Offense snaps (68) in 2024 than D snaps this week (62)

Not everything is in stats. You can look at stats and think you know the thing. But
It is not always the case. Maybe he does completely suck. But I liked his size, attitude and the way he carried himself on the field when I saw him.

You sure its the same Jaylin Simpson? I see that the Packers Jaylin Simpson was switched from Safety (played in college) to CB by the Colts, but prior to the last game, I am not seeing any NFL snaps last season or this season for him and definitely none on offense.

Looks like he was activated for the Jets in 2024. Still looking to see if he’s a misprint at Offense.

I do know for fact he was on the Jets active Roster past season

Unless this cat can play both Offensive Guard and CB, I think it is either a player name mistake, or 2 guys with the same name and their stats got convoluted. There was a Jaylin Simpson that had played 68 offensive snaps for the Jets in 2024 as a Guard.

I'm with you on the Love at least to the point of understanding.

My issue is there are guys here declaring the Willis hit dirty - there IS ZERO dirty about it. 11 out of 10 times if it was us sacking Caleb Williams not ONE person here would call it dirty. That's just lunacy. Still shots inserted below from the video of the game just this second (cannot get video to link right). @GreenBaySlacker where is this you described:

You're either one of the softest fans of football or you're just letting your GB glasses which you see the play cause you to be unreasonable (which is fine, TONS of fans have the inability in such moments to be reasonable).
You see where Willis goes down fully on his shoulder? Then the dlineman pancakes him into the turf. He didn't have to drive him into the turf full body weight like that. The tackle was made. Willis was vulnerable. And the dlineman , from my view tried purposely to hurt him by driving his full weight into the ground .. succeeding in knocking him out.

Watch it in full speed. It was dirty.

I saw that already. Did you open up the link? The Guard thing didn’t hold up very long. It shows our guys photo and physical description. Unless a 179lb guy plays OG!

I’ve looked there is not a Guard in the NFL named Jaylin Simpson at least in my limited research I have not found one.

The burden of proof is not on me I’m simply posting what I’ve seen so someone go find Guard Jaylin Simpson

We’ve got the Next Bo Melton! Can play O + D

Should have been a personal foul at least then. I thought it was just a tackle but didn't watch in slow mo or more than twice.

Legal or not. It was dirty...

Maybe we should see if Chicago thinks it's dirty when Caleb gets his throwing shoulder broken under one of our 300 pound dlineman....after getting pile driven into the turf, after the tackle was made.

I've literally watched the All22. There is not a world that exists where any unbias person sees a dirty play, let alone a dirty play to the degree which you described it initially (which you've changed now anyways). Just admit you're bias. If Rashan Gary tackles Caleb exactly like that this weekend you are not thining dirty - even for a moment.
