From above

Packers get another team coming off some type of bye. All gas no defense Detroit. Loser is in last place in the division, at best tied with the teddy bears.
Whatever happened to Detroit's D? Seem to remember the year they made it to the NFCCG they had a solid D - but with a number of starters out (Hutchinson). That the D is still considered weak surprises me.

The Detroit offense will put on a better show than Dallas, I think. Close game but I think the Brewers get another W.

Huge, huge game. The NFC is going to be tight.

If they can block, I think they're winning this game. Goff aint great under pressure.

I agree CTG14, this is one of the most important games on the schedule, and I think it's a winnable game for the Packers, based on how they've played the last two weeks.

Goff will see a lot of pressure, and thanks to Gannon's clever disguising, won't see all the pressures coming. Maybe the biggest change from Hafley is Gannon's willingness to blitz safeties, esp Williams. It seems to be very effective.

They do have the excellent RB J. Gibbs to contend with. If they can keep him under 100 yards, the Packers should win.

Well thank goodness our current linebacker strength is against the run. When we run up against teams that are efficient at putting LBs into coverage...we may be singing a different song.

Brewers?...I guess we all have the Brew Crew on the mind.

Personally, I think the Miz can shut out the Lions...

I'm pretty sure they lost both starting safeties due to injury over the offseason and also lost their best CB due to a kidnapping issue in Florida. Brian Branch (good safety) is coming back against the Packers this week so I think their defense will be better but still overall suck.

Packers are going to need to score quickly and early to try and build a decent lead to keep the Lions from just running Gibbs down the Packers throat all game. If the Packers can force the Lions to play catch up I think the Packers win...but if the Lions can just keep handing the ball off to Gibbs, I think the Lions win.

Everyone predicted we’d lose to Detroit before the season even started. That’s the thing about Detroit.. they’re Always Lyin’
Awwww.... I see what you did there.

I was listening to a Dan Campbell presser on TheFan. He was highly respectful of the apparent turn around since the Atlanta mess, particularly mentioning the O-line, which can only mean one thing ... he's going to make #10 beat the Lions because the Pack have the worst rushing per game average in the league, and he's going to jam Gibbs down the Packers' front 7. I'm very suspicious of Campbell when he's being a good sport even after his little Howdy Doody moved on to Chicago.

Bill Parcells was very similar when speaking of an opponent. Talked about strengths but sidestepped weaknesses so as not to rile the natives.

I think the pre-season forecasts last year were the same, two losses to Detroit.

Firat thought wrong. It will be close, but the Packers will win this Sunday. Dan Campbell is often his own enemy.

Oooooooops! Thanks Curly for catching my mistake. I guess I'm caught up in Brewer fever.

Anyway, I tink the PACKERS get the W at Detroit.

I've got Brewer Fever myself.

I agree, I think the Packers CAN get a W in Detroit, but I don't know that they will. The Lions have a potent offense and are at home, so the Pack will need to play good defense and win the turnover battle. Not a given, but I like our chances.

Much is being made of the Lions offense, but who have they played? Some of the worst defenses in the NFL. The best defense they have seen was the Jets, which is ranked 11th on espn stats. The next best is the Cards at 22. Then:
Colts 23
Panthers 24
Saints 29
Bills 31

They haven't played the worst defense, because they are the worse.

The Packers are #10 and on the rise after a clunker or 2.

Lions have a potent offense and Gibbs may exploit our DL deficiency, but i think their stats were helped by playing some bad defenses.

I think the game will be close, but the Pack offense vrs the Lions defense is much bigger than the Lions offense vrs our defense. Packers 33 Lions 30.

I’m not quite ready to start a thread on Daniel Bullocks or Bobby Babich, but I might after Detroit IF they slow them down. Our Coaching Combo has lifted the Packers to #1 in INT across the league at a remarkable 4.27% per snap (9 Picks)

Upfront we are crawling back from last place tied at #25 in Rushing yards allowed per try (4.0). Our 5.3 Net yards per attempt ranks #3 in the NFL. Our yards per play is tied with the Vikings at #2 (4.6) We are also tied at #12 in Sacks and holding at #10 in Yards Allowed. Our -0.11 Yards per play.

Where GB has struggled up until last week was Redzone %. We were ranked #32 before our last game. We currently rank #25 with 75.0% of our Redzone opponents scoring a TD

The Detroit is O is built with plenty of talent. Led by a very capable QB in Goff, he has weapons galore. From Jameson Williams, Isaac Teslaa to Sam La Porta and Jamyr Gibbs (who just blew up Arizona with 151 yards rushing) Each benefit from a strong OL led my Christian Mahogany and Penei Sewell.

However GB now has some legitimacy of its own. Jordan Love is back on a Roll hitting an array of targets. GB boasts one of the better WR duo leaguewide. Matt Golden is dropping TD passes left and right on his way to a 1,420 yard 8.5 TD pace. Tucker Kraft looks to be approaching pre-injury form. Then Christian Watson is shredding Defenses on a 1,520 yard 17 TD pace. He’s become a threat from anywhere on the field. It’s no wonder Jordan is slinging it he’s now got his WR1 pairing.

The best thing Detroit can hope for is Josh Jacobs and Kevin Zeitler both being active and rusty, so Jordan hands the ball off to what’s been a substandard OL and in doing so self-mitigates a Powerhouse Passing attack. If not it’s going to be a shootout at the OK Corral.

I think if we get into a shootout we should like our odds. For the last 3 weeks our passing game has been very very close to theirs (EPA) and they have a considerably worse defense than us.

But if we get one of those situations where we revert to run-run-bomb pass and can't sustain drives, that's bad news for us. If we find ourselves in a TOP battle and can't keep our offense on the field for extended drives they'll just run Gibbs on us all day and it could get ugly.

IMO as we have seen time and time again now this team truly is at its best with an all gas, no brakes approach and this match will probably be no exception

Packers leads the league in Interceptions w/9.... Jared Goff has 12 TD's and 0 Picks. We need to get constant pressure on him, and if so, he should be good for at least 1 Interception. Key for me is we have to contain Gibbs, if not, our offense will need to be on point for 4 quarters.
