Excerpts
"The argument that Brian Gutekunst is a bad drafter goes something like this:
The mediocre and missed picks from the early rounds of his first four drafts as the Green Bay Packers general manager have been killers...
Only one of Gutekunst’s 2018 picks (Jaire Alexander) was still with the team by the start of 2022. And only nine of 37 players selected in his first four drafts (2018-21) are starters or significant rotational players this season. ...
But if you actually look hard at the draft – not just one draft, or one team, but all teams over five or 10 years – you find that all GMs come up short on a lot of picks no matter the round...
Or take last season’s Super Bowl champ, Kansas City. This probably says it all: Starting with Patrick Mahomes’ draft in ’17 through the ’20 draft, the Chiefs have signed exactly one draft pick to a second contract: Mahomes.
The notion that some NFL GMs are out there hitting on a lot of picks is fantasy. The truth is, getting two keepers in one draft is doing great. Getting one isn’t half bad. And quarterbacks make all the difference in the world..."

Yup I shared a retention of draft picks of Gute since like 2019 vs Eagles, Dolphins, Chiefs and I think another team...he's very much on par with the best teams currently in the league.
