Where the Packers are in the NFC

They have been SO bad, NE has only had 6 opportunities to defend in the red zone. Imagine that.

It takes two to tango, so it's most likely a combination of bad offenses plus NE's defense. They only gave up three points in the Super Bowl to the Rams last year, so it's not like they're a mirage. On the other hand, playing good competition can strengthen you. Maybe playing so many cupcakes will bite them in the @ss come playoff time.

I think GB is the class of the NFC, all the way. Just like NO has won without Brees, we've won without Adams and Savage, and Greene.

I guarantee the Packers wouldn't have gone 5-0 with their backup quarterback though.

• 49ers have the toughest schedule yet as they are yet to face 6 teams with winning records and all 6 of them are in contention for respective conference.

• Packers have the lightest schedule in paper (though by no means Lions and Bears can be discounted)! 49ers and Vikings at the end are the big 2 of the lot for us.

• Seahawks and Rams are hard to judge. Hawks only win against a good team was against Rams and they have lost to both Ravens and Saints. Rams wins also have come only against bottom feeder teams (except the Saints game) and have lost to Bucs, Hawks and 49ers.

• Except for Broncos and Chargers, Vikings have all tough outings.

To summarize, my predictions would be that the Conference title would be Saints vs Packers going by current team performances (anything may happen in playoffs!)

Green - Teams with winning record. Red - Losing record. Blue - .500 teams.

Really, I think any team can "****" themselves or "unfeck" themselves for that matter, but you need smart GM's and money Cap advisers to map out more than just a "win now" or "rebuild now" mentality to continually win in this league. TT and Ball did a good job of keeping the Packers pretty well Cap sound and had it not been for some poor drafts and a few bad resigns or no signs over TT's final years, the Packers might be sitting on one of the best rosters in the NFL. Basically, Gute and Ball have done a pretty decent job at digging the Packers out of a roster talent hole, while maintaining good cap numbers and bringing them back to being relative, quicker than most thought would happen.

With the above information it can help gauge the strength of a team compared to its competition. As of midway through the season, it’s clear that the Saints have generally had the toughest competition, followed by GB and then San Fran.

If your stats are correct, which I trust they are , I think you flipped 2 teams in your first part of "toughest competition". The Packers opponents thus far are .526 and the Saints opponents are .475 So the Packers have played teams with better records thus far.

You’re exactly correct. I realized that and flipped the labels shortly afterwards while working, but not before “‘ol Poker caught me!
I also double checked those #s and the Saints actually edged us out with a more difficult schedule (.533) to date.
