The article makes one wonder if Thompson would switch his drafting strategy away from the positions that he isn't able to find in the higher rounds. It goes with my theory about trading down as many times as possible to secure extra mid-round picks. Sifting through quantity to find quality seems just as likely to work as drafting specifically for quality and striking out.
Article aligns perfectly with the idea that once you have a terrific QB, you don't need to spend as many high round picks on offense as you do with defense. There is no position on defense that can lift that entire side of the ball like the QB can lift up the offense.
