This is one of the best TE classes in recent memory, if not the best.

Hockenson declaring would be really nice.

I know I know, but had you and the Packers drank my kool aid, that #4 picks looks pretty juicy. :)

Once again, the Packers still had a chance to make the playoffs when they played the Falcons. Do you honestly suggest the team should have tanked that game as well???

I never suggested that the Packers "tank" any game intentionally. Nor did I expect that they wouldn't keep playing all out to win. My observations after the home loss to the worst team in the NFL, was simply stating that given the low odds of making the playoffs by a team that was far from being playoff caliber, I was more than fine losing those final 4 games. Especially, if it meant protecting key players health for 2019, gaining experience for players that would benefit the Packers in 2019 and improving our draft position in the process.

You might not want it call it tanking but actually that's what you're advocating for.

While I understand that approach with the Packers being out of playoff contention to some degree although I don't agree with it there's absolutely no reason to even have considered it before the Falcobmns game.

I understand your position and I wasn't trying to convince anyone I was right, nor do I ever expect an NFL team to fully buy into what I was proposing, was just a gut feeling at the time given the situation. I can think of many situations where I wouldn't feel that way, this wasn't one of them given the state of the Packers in 2018 and especially after that loss to the Cardinals at home.

Again, just using hindsight, right now those 2 wins over the Falcons and Jets mean very little to me, on the other hand sitting in 4th position in all 7 rounds would mean a lot. Again, my perspective, I don't expect you or anyone to agree with it.

Using hindsight none of the Packers wins in 2018 mean anything yet I don't see any reason to complain about the team not holding the #1 pick in the draft.

LOL.....nor was I talking about that situation, so to randomly create it to try and prove a point really doesn't make a lot of sense.

Your extreme....my extreme. If the Packers entered the final game of the year, tied with 5 other teams with the worst record, but held the tie breaker advantage for the #1 pick, would you want them to win that game?

I have made it pretty clear that I want the Packers to win ever game no matter what.

You know that I mostly respect your opinion but to suggest they should lose a game to get a better draft position while still in playoff contention is ridiculous.

Ditto on respecting each others position ;)

We have Devante Adams. Other than that, we have a couple of still unproven rookie mid round draft picks with "potential" and Geronimo at wide receiver. If a receiver is the best player at our pick, I'd say there is a definite need there.
not saying a wr isn't needed but at 12 i don't see it with the defense still being the weak side of the ball. and besides, why add to rodgers list of untrusted guys he's not comfortable throwing to?

 Geez, don't let the fact that both MVS and EQ had successful rookie seasons get in the way of your continued rant of Rodgers.

Dane Brugler's latest has the Packers taking Jachai Polite, ED, Florida at #12. He has put some edge rush reps on tape this season that are freakish, however he's not even a 3 down player for his college team, so taking him in the 1st round is somewhat questionable.

He has Clelin Ferrell, ED, Clemson going #13 to the Dolphins, and I think I'd rather have him. He's more of a complete player and profiles as the type who could capably replace Nick Perry's role in the defense.

I wouldn't have a problem drafting a WR at 12 if there was one there that was worth it but I don' think there is. there doesn't seem to be much top of the draft talent at WR or RB this year. TE has a couple but not at #12. With the Saints pick or #44 I'd be fine with a WR or TE if the right guy was there and it seems like he could be.There are many other positions that I would be fine with as well.

I've seen a few mocks that have us taking Polite (or maybe its just teh same mock linked from different sites) The more I read the more I am liking Ferrell as well.

Boring! I hate you both.
One of the more fun aspects of this forum is actually "butting heads" with someone you might normally agree with and to be able to do it in a respectful way. I think you and I have done that, as well as I have with Captain, Mondio, Swhitset and many others. Reaffirms that we aren't all just "yes people" and just agreeing to agree. :) When you finally get to the end of "agreeing to disagree" you still respect each other.

I think i figured out Gute first round move this year. He making a deal with Redskins who sit at 15 needing a QB. Right behind us is Dolphins at 13 needing a QB. Gute gonna slide back to 15 and get the Redskins 2nd rounder...thus Redskins leap frog dolphins. its perfect. We get a second and just move back one non QB spot at 15.....Do IT.

Deionte Thompson please. Granted being in the UK I don’t get to watcg any College football but from the limited highlight reels and what I’ve read he’s going to be an absolute monster. Kids got speed, strength and doesn’t shy out of a tackle unlike old Ha-Ha, plus he covers the field unbelievably well.....Oh and he’s only 21

I don't watch much college. I count on the experts like you guys and ESPN to lead me one way or another on guys. But what I am interested in, since the Pack have a lot of picks in the draft if they will use any to move up and be aggressive. If they send their Saints pick and a 5th or something to move up higher in the first along with their 12th. I wouldn't mind seeing a mini splash like that to show they mean some business. It isn't all that often you can dumpster dive and find gold.

Maybe you should have read my previous post as I'm well aware it was part of your continued ridiculous rant of Rodgers.
it'll remain until i see a 180 in his attitude.

https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/...-look-at-matt-lafleurs-screens-and-formations

If a lack of creativity truly was the demise of Mike McCarthy’s tenure in Green Bay, then the answer may have arrived in the form of a tanned dreamboat named Matt LaFleur. It goes without saying that he will need to get Aaron Rodgers on board for any potential changes, but the blueprint is there for a new, innovative offensive scheme.
