Everyone knows I RARELY have ever said or defended the concept of taking a RB Day1 (this doesn't mean I don't have RBs ranked in my top 32 but that I don't believe it is wise use of picks Day 1)....that said enter Jeremiyah Love of Notre Dame.

Look...this young man is just NASTY in every good sense of the word. Last year he finally got the reigns of being the lead back (in a LOADED backfield) and despite not getting as many carries as many leaders dude compiled 1,125 yards on the ground on just 163 attempts (6.9 ypc) and 237 yards receiving on just 28 receptions (8.5ypr). 19 total TDs.

Remember in 2024 ND offense Riley Leonard led the team in rushing attempts with 184 and Jadarian Price got 120 rushing attempts...if Love had truly been a typical bell cow, he easily eclipses 2,000 yards and IMO is likely the concensus best RB over Ashton (who got 374 attempts) because unlike Jeanty Love is a true threat in the passing game and not just a ditch and dump option.

This young man to me is NOT something Green Bay should target UNLESS we yet again are sitting at the end of Day1 AND Lloyd hasn't been able to stay healthy or shows he isn't ready to be a compliment to Jacobs. I cannot fathom the tandem of Jacobs and Love with Wilson in the third spot just making MLF drooling over his options.

Jeremiyah Love...likely in my Top15 and a RB I fully will understand and advocate for a team to use a Day1 pick on depending on their team's structure and situation.

Another favorite prospect of mine from 2025 - and decided to return to college one more years has to be highlighted and that is the Godfather...Dontay Corleone defensive tackle from Cincinatti.

Dude has put forth 109 tackles, 17 TFLs, 9.5 sacks in his 34 game career in college. His strength and ability to wreck double teams even is on display nearly every single snap you watch from him. Constantly teams have tried to double team him, only to see him flatten one of the two and push back the other into the QB's or RB's lap destroying the flow of a play. His 10 yard split of 1.71 clocked this offseason at over 335lbs folks is INSANE. GB is going to LOVE his 3 cone which I've heard rumors of he has hit the 7.4 and flirting with getting in the 7.3s.

If the time has finally come to walk from Clark or plan on Brooks and Wooden both leaving after 2026 season...this BAAAAAD man could be the immediate answer day 1.

The chances of trying to predict a position specifically we might target in 2026 is tough....and with not having a Day1 pick is even tougher because the GB tendencies don't hone things down to the "most likely" types.

That said...GB with addition of Micah and fiscal tightness created by that PLUS the massive class of departing contracts in starters and contributors leads me to look to a position which we could very much need a plug and play guy in their rookie year because of the cost savings to our cap that could create. IF Elgton Jenkins were released, the savings would be right around $20M....that is something I think only a fool wouldn't have to consider. Now if Jennkins is willing to take a deal extension that cuts that in half for 2026 and stays reasonable for two or threes years after that with a third or fourth year which will never been seen as is...perhaps.

BUT that means center and the good news is rookie starting centers are typically easily found in Day2 of the draft. So who are some of "Tyni's Guys" at center....

Many top center lists you'll see will always inlcude the first guy and that is Jake Slaughter from Florida. He's a three year day in and day out starting center for the Gators who has consistently not just graded out as one of the best centers but one of the better lineman in the SEC. Right now if you were to tell me a center goes day one of the draft I'd likely expect it to be Slaughter - he just seems to be the safest center pick there is. He has great length for a center, carries just over 300lbs but has the frame to build upon it without much if any athleticism loss at the cost of it either. In 760 pass blocking snaps he provided or given up just 3 sacks to his credit in that time and only 18 pressures per PFF...you keep your pressures per pass snap around 2% you're going to catch the eye of the NFL at any OL position. While he's put up offensive blocking grades of 77.8 (23') and 82.0 (24') he started the 2025 campaign with one of the cleanest games I've ever seen him have which is saying something....BUT keep it in perspective it was against Long Island University who is barely D1. In truth I don't see Slaughter there in the second round when we pick, but if he is - I don't want to hear ignorant fools moan about picking a center....he'd easily be our best center day 1 and provide us four years of center play no doubt in my mind.

Logan Jones - Iowa - Center is a prospect that I just love and admit more than most. His journey of being recruited as a defensive lineman, to the 2021 season taken from him due to injury and then in Spring 2022 they moved him to offensive line - center specifically - and the dude freaking won the spot and has never looked back since. 2025 will be his fourth year centering the offensive line of the Hawkeyes and if you watch him, he's never lost that defensive aggression of attacking, it seems to be how he takes on his blocking assignments in the run game. While his first season at center saw him only give up 2 sacks, his pressures were 24 and a higher than desired % of pass snaps at nearly 6%. But in 2024, he gave up just 5 pressures / 1 hit / 0 sacks...and rounded into just an incredible center and caught the eye of every scout I know personally. He was going to be drafted last year likely, but late, going back I think could lead to him flirting with end of day 2 if a team really falls in love with him. Lot of a season ahead of us, but I currently have a 3rd-6th round range on him, but I truly suspect he is going to put another stellar season together like 2024 and if he does there is a chance I wash out on a 3rd round grade on a guy that is mature, gritty to the core and has faced adversity before and conquered it.

Connor Lew - Auburn - Center for sure deserves being mentioned as he and Slaughter are typically fighting for the #1 Center spot on majority of watchlists. Connor is the youngest of the three mentioned so far heading into just his 3rd NFL season. Depending on how 2025 goes I could easily see him not declare but if he is the athletic beast he seems, has another stellar year - he like Slaughter would be a top 50 pick likely as I know more than a few teams that likely will look to center in 2026. Lew, in his first two seasons only gave up 1 sack in 670 pass blocking snaps (a tenth of 1%)...and only 15 total pressures which is right around that 2% clip I've said is awesome to be at or under. If you want a center to pull often this young man is the ticket - his foot speed is impressive, and his understanding of leverage from wrestling background shines in blocking as he seems to control the uncontrollable at times.

I'll mention one more and anyone that follows me I seem to always gravitate towards a Missouri offensive lineman of sorts each draft...doesn't always mean I have them ranked high, but love their profile and projection. Connor Tollison is their center and I likely think will continue the Tiger OL streak I seem to have. Used as a TE some and center just one game his freshman year (2021) - he like Jones started at center in 2022 and is entering his fourth year as his teams' unspoken brain of the OL. Center in 2022 out of necessity he struggled many would admit with the SEC fronts he constantly would see, however in 2023 he really put an awesome season together...and repeated in 2024. The thing he has struggled with is his pass pro, he is a BEAST in run blocking, but at times struggles with pass pro. He had an incredibly clean pass pro game week 1 on 29 reps, but Central Arkansas isn't a powerhouse, but Bradley Clark their senior DT knows how to pressure in the middle and he never got home or even pressured. Keep an eye on Tollison, while some would say at this time he is a late Day3 flyer...I truly think he has the starting chops at center at the next level if his growth and maturation in pass pro has reached a level it would need to be at the next level.

Just a follow up post as to how these mentioned centers have faired...

Jake Slaughter has actually been a little worse than I expected the last few games and I will say if he stays like this through end of the year good chance he lets go of the first center off board position...but I see him correcting ship as he is too smart and good of a center.

Logan Jones Iowa's center is trending massively up and I am falling even more in love with him. He had a bit of a dip in his run blocking reps vs. Indiana but dude remains I think one of the best internal pass blocking centers in college football. His worst pass blocking game is a season best for many centers. Keep an eye on him folks...would be an AWESOME center and might be there with our 2nd rounder or as we all know sometimes centers that a legit starters are there in 3rd - 5th. I am guessing he would be by all team consensus a top 64 prospect for sure.

Connor Lew Auburn's center has been very roller coaster like...Baylor and Texas A&M really spun him and pushed him around...but dude locked in against Ball State, S Alabama and Oklahoma. Lew needs to show up against some top flight teams or he might find himself as the third or fourth center on many boards when some said he was their top going into the season. FTR I've never had him that high.

Since he was mentioned in the post Connor Tollison from Missouri...he is having a down year compared to his 2024, and I'm hoping he pulls it up some or he could be a clean Day3 projection IMO

I know many will roll their eyes if we did this....but folks - let me tell you about a tackle prospect I LOVE and has GB written all over him.

Max Iheanachor - Arizona State - 6'6' 330lbs

He plays RT for the Sun Devils...and while many would never know, football is honestly brand new to him relatively speaking. Little about him and his journey....at 13 he moved from Nigeria to Los Angeles...he grew up playing soccer and basketball - his high school didn't even have football. In 2021 he enrolled in East LA College and his size, natural footwork and athletic background helped him quickly transition to a sport brand new to him....and he quickly became the No.7 ranked junior college prospect in the nation. Transferring to Arizona State in 2023. He played some in 2023 with a few starts sprinkled in (at least 5) all at RT...but it was 2024 where Arizona State made the playoff run that a LOT of folks started noticing this raw athletic RT on the field just disrupting anything defenses threw at him.

This year as of typing this he has yet to give up a sack or QB hit and ONLY 5 hurries. That is an efficiency of pass blocking reps of nearly 99%. And it hasn't been just nobody teams - Miss State, Baylor and TCU are in there (Texas St and N Arizona the others). If he continues to just be awesome in the coming stretch of games there is a really good chance I think he will be a lock for Day2 and his testing could push him higher than many think.

Many might say why would we draft him....well IMO you never can have too many athletic big guys for the offensive line....yes Tom is our RT of the future UNLESS we (GB) decides you know what our strongest line in 2026 is Tom at Center and Belton at RT (or Max Iheanachor).....Rasheed is leaving and Morgan has shown he is solid on left side of the line but not as good on right side (RG better than RT)....but really GB has all the weapons locked down for a bit, offensively the OL will see Walker and Rhyan leave....Jenkins has struggled and Banks cannot stay healthy - is drafting an incredibly athletic, likely fully capable RG or RT now but would be special if not forced to start right away? Be a very GB thing to do....

I love Max and while it will be MONTHS till I have actual ranks, he is a Day2 lock for me right now barring a catastrophic issue or such popping up with him.

Looks like a great Prospect.

I’ll quickly offer that I’d really like to see GB go after another DT (I had an Early draft crush on Derrick Harmon and he’s turned out phenomenal). I’m certainly not complaining about Golden as he’s right on course to break out at any time.

I’d totally be ok with us also drafting an OL in Day2 alongside a DT. I still think we need to pipeline that as much as possible. Our Play action highly depends on our Running success. So far we still need to get Jacobs going. Plus we always need developing depth on cheap $ (like Belton) if someone misses time. As you mentioned with Walker and Rhyan likely gone, it’s going to be another year to either draft 1 OL earlier… or a pair in Day3 etc.

We’re finding out how important it is to stock the shelves at DT/OL in the trenches.
