You think they would want to know beforehand se they can address the position in the draft...but what do I know.

Could mean Collins' status is up in the air. Could mean that the team doesn't want to reveal information about their needs (or lack thereof) on the eve of the draft. I suspect the latter.

Wilde said today that Collins is going to get the opinions of two more medical experts. If I had to guess I’d guess Collins wants to play and the Packers are trying to convince him to retire. Perhaps Collins said something like, ‘How about if I get two more doctors to sign off on my resuming my career?’

I’d be surprised if the decision has been made and they aren’t releasing it because of the draft. Not saying that couldn’t be what’s happening, I just don’t think so.

Smokescreen for the draft, that's what it is.
His agent, assuming he was cited correctly, had the lamest of excuses besides "The dog devoured my homework!"

“All the opinions aren’t in, and I think he’s getting another opinion,” Herman said. “That doctor was not available. He was on vacation, so I’m hopeful soon. But I think he’s got another meeting with one of the doctors.”

Very possible the packers requested he get a 2nd opinion before they do a medical check themselves and attempt to get him back on the field. Nothing wrong with getting a second opinion.

Collins is getting an opinion of five spinal specialists before making a decision.

After a year off and probably not in football shape. And Nick(as much as I love you) please don't return. He should stay home, spend time with his family. Enjoy life. He's said he's got enough money to be comfortable. I just don't see why either side should risk it..
