A WR and QB with our earliest picks.

Ummmmmm................sweet, I guess?

Do you ever listen to Thompson's press conferences? He never talks about, "Well, we have a whole in this position, so we drafted this guy. I really hope he can be the starter this year, because if he can't, we're ****ed!" Nope, all he ever talks about is "value picks". It ought be getting clear that he drafts good football players, not players who will hopefully fill a gap next season. I trust him to pick the players that will benefit the team. QB and WR may not be our biggest need, but while other teams were drafting based on needs, Thompson was able to nab 2 great football players. That's sweet.

Only 2? He must be a real incompetent jerk. Let's run him off.

Yeah, I caught his post-draft day 1 conference and he was classic Ted.

Reporter: What made you choose Brohm over Henne?
TT: I don't know ... (so) I don't know how to answer your question.

That was a classic  moment. I trust TT, but that man does not like going into detail about his draft board.

Yeah that's what Ted really replied with lol ... the funniest thing actually is that right after saying that, Ted actually gave a decent answer about how Brohm and Henne were both liked by the Pack, but Brohm just seemed to edge out Henne in certain categories that ultimately gave him the nod.

Don Banks' article in SI after the first day of the draft is about how teams are drafting for need more than ever before:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/don_banks/04/26/snap.judgments/?eref=T1

If he's correct (and I think he is), Ted is going against the trend.

I already think the pundits will give Ted a decent grade for this draft, because he drafted somebody famous (Brian Brohm). That's their main criterion for judging a team's draft picks.

I'm hoping OT Carl Nicks slides to us at 128. The main complaint is he's a little too mean. I'm OK with that. ;)
