Percy Harvin wants back in the league... Turns 32 in May. "retired" because of migraines. Says he has been working out with an olympian and is at 185lbs. Food for thought. If he's willing to play for near vet min (which I doubt) I'd bring him in for a workout.

Pass. Last played in 2016 (2 games 2 catches. Averaged 5 games per season in his last 6 seasons. Wouldn't waste the time, money, resources etc. We need better WR's but I don't think Percy is the answer.

Bring him in for a workout before passing would be my call. Let's see this dude and judge what he is now.

I also recall that he was known as a malcontent who rubs teammates and coaches the wrong way in the locker room. Even picked a fight with Golden Tate in the locker room at Seattle.

Injury history, turning 32, hasn't played since 2016, 30 games in his 6 seasons, locker room cancer. Wasn't even THAT special when he did play IMO... Still a hard pass for me, even at Vet. Min.

All true, but time changes all...some for the better some for the worst. I'll gladly kick a tire on anything at no cost...see if any air is left.

LOL for sure...Tate was an idiot at ND, despised being happy for my team when he succeeded.

Not surprisingly, Harvin wants to play with Tom in Tampa. That probably settles that. Tampa continues to look like the offseason paper champs.

In my opinion the Packers should pass on Harvin as well. I guess that him losing some of his athleticism over the past nearly four years is the only thing that has changed.

And we all know that's the most important thing. How did it work out for the Browns last year???

I don't think Brady or Gronk make them look like champs. Gronk's body won't last a season and Brady's arm looked pretty suspect. If going downfield is their plan, I don't think it's a good one. I suppose November in Tampa might be easier than NOvember in NE, but we'll see.

On the Bucs... I don't think it makes them favorites in the NFC or anything... but going from Jameis to Brady, even if he's over 40... that's gotta be an improvement. Bucs offense was already very good last year even with Jameis and his 35 or whatever turnovers.

On Percy... it's at a position of need for us and he'd be inexpensive. I don't have a problem with giving the guy an interview and a workout. Not like doing so commits us to anything. That being said, if it seems clear he's just floating a return so he can sit on the bench and sponge up a ring with Tampa, then he can screw right off.

Who is out there that could play DL for the Packers? DL and maybe TEs are the slowest to adjust to the NFL so it would be nice to get a veteran there at a lower cost

It depends the role of the DL you desire to fill. I think a skilled rookie can easily contribute as back up to Clark...or a run specific specialist that is worthless on passing situations for pressure is also something rookie can come in and do. That is precisely why I have a few DL's circled even into the late rounds on guys that are just HUGE run pluggers.

Essentially help keep us from being gashed like SF did to us. I would by fine drafting a guy like that. I am not as worried about pass rushing because I think the team will be more creative with Gary this year moving he and Zadarius around. But a guy who can really take up blockers next to Clark could be huge. Especially if we can get some more athleticism at ILB

Stopping a gashing as you eluded to is much more than a surefire DL away from being cured. Kirksey healthy is a much more versatile and quick option at ILB vs Martinez. Burks either booms or busts this season...add in Z most likely moving around more as well this season IF Gary can handle at minimum a Fackrell like snap count total (over 40% last season)...but I suspect there is a reason Gute added two essentially "second year rookies" from the waiver wire yesterday he is rumored to have liked but didn't get after draft last year...mix in a few solid draft picks...we are heading in the right direction. I think many had hoped Lancaster and Adams were going to blossom last year, and it just didn't pan out like we'd all hoped. I still hold hope for Adams, but Lancaster I get the sense is what he is, deep depth that will do his job and what is asked, but won't grow into more.

Oh I definitely agree it is more than a DL. However a DL with Kirskey and an ILB in the draft could go a long way.

Brady won't turn the ball over as much as Winston but he won't be able to complete as many deep passes to Evans and Godwin either.

Harvin hasn't played in the NFL since the 2016 season, I highly doubt he would have anything to offer.

Aside of Mike Daniels there aren't any decent defensive linemen available in free agency. Signing him shouldn't be considered an option in my opinion though.

i've given up on this draft improving our team for year 2020 at least
trade Linsley, play Jenkins at C
sign Claymaker, Tramon, Snacks Harrison to 1 year deals post-draft
i would at LEAST be entertained, and that's all i ask for :D

My biggest surprise and disappointment since the end of the season is the approach to fix one of the least talented groups of Receivers in the league. 54% of WR snaps in 2019 were taken by UDFA's. So far, what have the Packers done?
  • Signed CFL's Reggie Begelton
  • Signed Funchess
  • Let Graham Walk
  • Resigned M. Lewis
  • Let GMO walk
  • resigned Kumerow
  • Draft: Despite all the talk about how deep this WR draft was, barring a trade up, the Packers highest WR pick would be 5th round. Drafted a Backup TE.
Barring the Packers landing a player that far exceeds his draft exceptions in the 5th round or beyond, the job Gute has done to address a known issue has been pathetic IMO. Maybe he has something up is sleeve for a trade or has his eyes on a FA or thinks we are going to get a lot more out of last years group than most expect. Or quite simply, he doesn't see much of a need to do much with WR's and TE's?

Sucks he's probably out of our price range but we'd be downright nasty up front with him.
