The issue is that MLF has never been a bad coach. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

Though I like him, we would be remiss if we don't consider alternatives.

My fear is we get 5 more years of going nowhere fast with a new Lafluer contract!

And can we stop with "we have a good defense" they get shredded half a game!

On to 2026! Hopefully a new regime!

Lafluer has had 7 years to bring a championship to GB. He cant do it.

Time has come....or, will come in 4 weeks
Maybe 3.
Remember his decision to kick a field goal near the end of the game against Tampa in the NFC Championship? You either come up with a play to win or you try again and fail, you don’t kick a field goal and lose. It doesn’t matter if you’re good some of the time, if you ultimately fail. Gut and MLF are not good enough.

If it happens, I wouldn't expect anything to happen until tomorrow.

Although, if he addresses the media today at 4, I dont expect he will be let go. Bad look to do press conferences with a coach that gets fired shortly afterwards. (Bears last year)
Well, he addressed the media today at 4, so…..

Really don't post on the forum but am a frequent reader. Matt LaFleur has some major flaws that will never change regardless of the situation. His loyalty to his assistant coaches may be number one. i get that there will always be bumps along the way and things will always be under the microscope...but he is unwilling to make the changes necessary when a major problem area on the team is not getting fixed...ala hanging on to too our former DC TOO long, or the current mess at special teams. when is he going to break the ties with Bisachia...every loss this year and all our previous playoff blunders..its always with that unit. Watching a podcast earlier this season with Andy Hermon with Justice as guest, Justice pointed that the Packers just don't really prioritize special teams ..ever under this command ,and hence we will always be at the bottom of the standings. and I think that Matt is just TOO nice of a coach. Show some cahoneys once in a while..... not a slap on the wrist and your all good. It seems to me hi teams lack of killer instinct is a direct reflection of his personality. Just my two cents.
I think that’s right. It’s so obvious. I always remember the NFC championship when he decided to kick a field goal near the end of the game.

MLF displayed a total lack of composure when McAnus missed that FG near the end. He was prancing around like Barney Fife or Dagwood Bumstead. It killed any chance of the team rallying.

McCarthy at least mostly kept his composure, he'd have just stood there like a statue ala Tom Landry.

Holmgren would have probably stared down McAnus so hard superman lasers would have shot out his eyes and disintegrated McAnus before he got back to the sideline.

IMO, it sums up all of the meltdowns in the regular & post seasons of MLF. Total panic if things aren't going as planned.

Time to swing for the fences. Get Cignetti or Harbaugh and a seasoned GM that doesn't rush to the altar with $5mil/yr. contracts for bums like McAnus.
That’s hilarious on Holmgren. Which reminds me about the coaching staff Holmgren brought in. The Packers just don’t bring in that kind of brain power anymore. Holmgren probably elevated the abilities of his coaching staff and players alike.

If he is back, I hope he is forced to give up play calling. The one thing I literally hated him doing was turning his back to the play, going off into a corner to look at his play sheet/tablet and make notes. Maybe I'm just not hyper focused on other head coaches, but I just don't recall seeing this happened. And it happened again yesterday.
To be a fly on the paper. Do you think it’s analytics or feel for the game. I think analytics.

Let him call plays in the first half but force him to give it up for the second.

Caleb Williams is in his second year and Ben Johnson his first year. Who’s advancing in the playoffs. I’ve seen players let go for making one mistake. These GMs and coaches keep failing year after year and they still have jobs. Well paying jobs. Good money after bad results. Year after year.
Fair point here. I keep hearing how our team is so young and that's fair enough but young does NOT necessarily imply inexperienced. Half the guys on the Bears have never even sniffed the postseason before yesterday. Who looked like the more inexperienced team out there?

Barney Fife in a panic. Bug-eyed and head going back and forth with his arms out stretched and his hands grasping for a decision.

Same old song and dance. Wants to be back. Doesn’t think there’s a culture problem. People were trying. Needs to finish. Blamed the offensive line.

Pretty much a replay of every one of his meltdown losses in his tenure.

I bet if there was a true owner paying out of his own pocket things would be different. Maybe there needs to be financial penalties on Policy if he fails to rectifying obvious problems with management. Of course the board will just sit back and puff on their cigars and say all is fine.

Well, there's some truth to that. After all, they're making untold sums of money off our support. Everyone, BUT US, goes to bed millionaires, so for them, there's always next year. Their fan base has put up with it for all this time, so why rock the boat, I guess!

I don’t think the board gets involved with football decisions except hiring and firing the President or whatever his title is. Policy will determine the fate of Gute and MLF, but as long as they remain in place they are calling the shots in their respective roles. The board doesn’t have input or authority because they are not football people. They don’t have the knowledge or experience to run a football team. That’s what caused all the bad decisions after Lombardi left.

Would it be too premature to start a
“Fire Ed Policy” thread?

I’m already disgusted with the mere idea of more of the same.

Honest to God I would’ve rather left Tampa at the Tampa1 trying to score.

If we already gamble at getting the ball back? Go ahead and take a bonus try on 4th

It was 2:28 left and that’s enough time to call 2 running plays or 1 and 1 pass n run to get closer. Even if we only picked up 4-5 yards it’s 3rd and goal at the Tampa3 with a free 2-min timeout. Then Run a Pass play. Stops clock or we score. Then you can run on 4th n 3 even because if we miss? it stops the clock!

We had 3 timeouts with 1:55 left! Or 4 timeouts at 2:05 had we ran 1 run 1 pass on 1st n 2nd down. They’d be at the Tampa1!! If we stop them? We’re getting the ball again near midfield area with 1:30 left and no timeouts.

We did NOT have to abandon the Run because of the clock exactly at just enough to run a pair of plays either before or up until the 2-minute warning. They could’ve been any mix of any 2 plays but MUST be both called with no huddle.

If we Run the ball? Lacy was averaging 6+ per carry all day. Are we going to Kick a FG on 4th n 4 to tie if we fall short??? How about 4th n 2?? He forgot you get 2 plays before 2-minute and a bonus timeout if you miss on Downs. The clock dOES NOT roll on change of possession!

We kicked a FG because Matt didn’t look at the clock and realize he could get TWO plays in either at or before the 2-minute It’s not like we’re going 30 yards trying to reset the LOS here it’s likely a 3 yard Run there and instruct your guys it’s 2-minute drill with a pass play next. “NY bozo Idiot” etc. etc. btw WHATEVER YOU DO GET SET DONT MOVE AND DO NOT JUMP OFFSIDES GUYS!!!! (Clap)) Another problem we seem to forget)

A 4th down try provides a free timeout. I bet if you asked Matt today …. how many clock stops could he get in that finish?? I’m 100% sure he says 4 timeouts. Well.. because you had the 2-min etc,,

The answer is 5 (1 clock stop on downs). We pissed away a free timeout and I bet he does not even realize it today. I’d put $$ on his answer is 4

One thing I've noticed about MLF on the sidelines during games is he looks like he is about to cry when the team is struggling. Not a great trait you want in a leader.

The only person on the Executive Board getting paid is Policy.
