Considering their propensity for collapsing, I find that somewhat surprising.

Sadly, in at least 4 of their last 5 loses, the Packers defense collapsed in the 2nd half and more specifically, the 4th Q. (Bears twice, Ravens and Broncos).

I collapsed in those 2nd halves as well

Throw in the preseason like game against the Queens and I think that is what has Packer fans so frustrated with an otherwise pretty decent season. The Packers team didn't finish well and the Packer defense, definitely didn't finish a lot of games.

I know some will blame that on the offense not contributing in 2nd halves when they should of and there is some truth to that. However, a good defense plays 4 good quarters. If I was a GM and was considering Hafley for a HC job, I would want a solid explanation as to why his defenses allowed so many points in the 4th Q of games.

Why do you keep spelling his name that way?

Sadly, I think a lot of people are tuned into the outside world. A world where for some, it is in vogue that if you don't like someone, you try to disparage them by mispronouncing their name intentionally. That or the even more childish act of giving them a nickname, that carries a negative connotation.

I am definitely not a fan of name calling. Both sides do it, to their detriment, IMO.

I think at bare minimum if he's staying don't let him call plays anymore

Which is what I had hoped MLF would decide on his own to do after the 2024 season, but he didn't. I don't see him doing it after this season either. I think MLF is recognized by those in the know, for having a brilliant offensive mind. However, I have always questioned his ability to call plays while being a HC. I just don't think he does both jobs efficiently well, in the heat of the moment.

Maybe he will figure it all out or get the right assistants around him to improve what he himself does during a game, in Green Bay or elsewhere. If he doesn't, I have no doubt he would be an excellent OC.

That works.

I grew up in a neighborhood where we gave each other nicknames, but they were typically names of positivity, admiration and earned. I suppose that there was that small group of bullies that had their pet names for everyone that they didn't like, but that is pretty much what being a bully is, thinking you are the greatest and everyone else sucks.

I blame the offense

Someone can have the greatest take in the world, but once the weird derogatory nicknames start I usually just tune out whatever they've stated.

How this is destined to go down: Lafleur and Packers hem and haw the next week, can’t close the gap, all the other HC candidates sign in the meantime, Hafley gets HC job elsewhere, MLF leaves.

Adam Stenavich promoted to HC.

Couldn’t find a thread for this, so I’m starting one. The team looks so unprepared and undisciplined, and that’s on the coaching staff. I’m not saying he should be fired, but given our recent performance, I suspect we will hear more in this vein soon. So it’s worth having a thread.

Actually, Steno was a very good OL coach. It's tough to know how good he is in his current role because it's more behind the scenes.

He could be a great head coach. The key is to hire the right coordinators. Just like LaFleur is a very good OC but a marginal HC, Stenavich may be the opposite.

That's taking away the one thing that he is best at doing. It would never happen, but in a perfect world he would be demoted to offensive coordinator and a fire-breathing head coach hired to pull it all together.

Personally, I am not a fan of just changing titles and shuffling people around to make it look like you made big changes. If you are going to burn it down, by letting MLF go, then go find a new HC and let him find a staff. This was my biggest complaint with MM and still is with Matt. It too often feels like someone wants more money, so they give them more and add a title to their name and suddenly you have a Rich Bisaccia situation where you don't know WTF the guy is even doing, especially because whatever it is, isn't showing up on the field. MM did this constantly with his defensive coaches, drove me nuts.

The flower thing is just a translation of his name into English.

I couldn't agree more. Seems like we are back to McCarthy years. Basics, tackling, blocking and bonehead penalties. As far as firing Matt, I think one needs to take a look back at previous coaches. How many times have they made it to the SB? I see again at lot in play calling, and I often wondered why Jacobs wasn't subbed out against the Bears. Seems to me the two man tandom worked pretty well when Jacobs wasn't up to speed. Valentine and Walker I think really need to go. As a defensive player myself back in the day, don't let your man get behind you I think is pretty basic for a defensive back whether zone or man to man. While Parsons is probably a team leader on the field, there needs to be more then just one to get guys pumped. Couldn't that just come down to the will to win? Sometimes on wonder how these defensive backs even play at all especially when it comes to tackling. Throwing blocks in try to bring somebody down just doesn't cut it. And the Pack have a serious problem with that issue. That latest bomb of Williams late in the 4th to the No. 2 had 4 Packer players around him, yet no one made even a effort in getting to the ball. How does that happen? You have to have your head in the game for four quarters. Yup! I am 82 and remember the Vince days, he wouldn't tolerate a lot of these fellows. I would still stay with Matt but he like the players have to work on their game. The second half over 70% passing. Why? because they stopped Jacobs cold but how about his backup? The offensive line doesn't get a pass either. Now with two speedy WR's. The line has got to give Love more time in order to take advantage of that deep threat. I like that combo just need to give the rookie more chances.

The Broncos were very good and after Parsons went out it hurt even more. The Ravens dominated the whole game. Now the Bears...No excuse.
