Lions are currently 4th oldest roster and have 28 free agents in '26. Their playoff window is rapidly closing, imho, and are pushing for one last "big year" in '25.
Vikings are 8th oldest and have 18 free agents in '26.
Bears are 16th youngest/oldest team and have 24 free agents in '26

Packers will have tough decions to make but don't appear to be in any worse situation than the other NFC North teams.
Lions need to make a push this year. But they still will be a strong team in 2026. They have the franchise QB and an excellent HC. I do not see them in a major rebuild.

Big game. Do we kick or receive if we win the toss? I sure don't want them driving down the field and have Love sitting on the bench waiting. So I say take take ball. And march down and score ourselves.

Good question. I see McCarthy, when he was our coach, kicking off and we are down 7-0. But the Lions can also push for double jeopardy by scoring late in the first half and also starting the 3rd. If the Lions win the toss Campbell will take the ball. Now the Lions went 15-2 in the regular season I believe. One of those losses was WK 2 at home to Tampa. In WK 1 the Lions had to win in OT at home against the Rams. Had they not won the toss the Lions may have lost. Both defenses were spent. So if Detroit is vulnerable at all it would be now. Receive, as you say.

I agree. Detroit is a damned tough team to come back on. I'd like to do whatever is possible to avoid starting the game down 7-0.

7th round pick CB Micah Robinson cut to make room for Nick Niemann.

Guessing they'll try and sign Robinson to the PS.

We opened the season and ended our season with Philly in 2024. Last September the Eagles came out flat, made first half turnovers, and gave us several big plays before they got it together. We were just too inept to take advantage of it along with having a kicker who left points on the field. Detroit is very hungry after last season but it is also WK 1.

Eh I don’t see the PS, Golden will get more snaps, Heath will and Savion possibly…but in reality this team is more lethal with 12 personnel and a healthy Musgrave complimenting Kraft.

If Wicks can continue to be literally one of the best separation artists in the game and just lower his drops in half….that alone would be just insane.
Totally agree. Want to see a lot of 12 personnel formations this year. There are still lots of tiny fast LB's in the league. Punish them!

Musgrave is quick. I think he runs about a 4.6. But where he's money is in those first 10-yards, where he's extremely quick. He creates a little different perspective in that way than a straight 12 personnel package because he can get off the line fast and makes a good target. I think that's a great asset for the Packers. Especially since it means another wide body to help our RBs reach the second level and beyond.

I hope they do incorporate it more than they did when both were healthy last year. It can be a great weapon.
