The Packers' 53-man roster is comprised of 41 draft picks and 12 undrafted free agents. Thirty-two players were drafted by GM Brian Gutekunst.

My bloodpressure won't handle us picking Kevin King back up...I'm also hoping you meant Kalen King
Oh I did... too many King's drafted by the Packers at CB, with their first name starting with K. My blood pressure wouldn't handle him on the roster either.

Yeah, I think if there was a plan to have traded Doubs away, before today, it blew up with all the injuries and poor performances. This WR group really isn't as strong as we all were thinking/hoping several months ago.
Several months ago, and when they traded Adams. I remember a lot of people liking the spread it around approach and their youth. I am not saying they should not have traded Adams. They received a nice haul. In hindsight though it sure looks like they maybe should have brought in a reliable vet to complement the youngins.

QB Taylor Elgersma cut

Guessing Clifford is next and they will sign Elgersma to the PS
Makes sense. Clifford can get a shot somewhere. Who knows, if we have an injury or two, and he is still available, he may get a call. It has happened.

Didn't they bring back a washed up veteran in Rodgers last season here? Caught a long TD against the Bears. But nothing else.

I think it was a LB from Dallas. His name escapes me. He was like a 1st Rounder but had a pretty serious injury and kinda lost a step. I’ll use my multiple choice please? Lol

Jaylon Smith?

PS. Oddly he went on to be pretty average for NY Giants I believe it was. Too lazy to look it up
Too lazy as well. He fizzled out as you said. Ironically, we had a couple of our LBs wind up elsewhere just before that including Blake Martinez.

Really no surprises yet to me....Simmons was one of my first three out though.
Anyone surprised about Melton? We hammer him all season. Will he play on offense, defense, or special teams? I think he is still here because he somehow fits the mold of next man up which he knows is always in need on our rosters.

Disagree...it is essentially exactly as everyone figured: Doubs/Reed/Wicks/Golden/Williams and Heath with Watson biting at the bit to come back.
The worst position group on the team last year. They were terrible.

Only due to drops and anyone that has football knowledge knows this. Execution is so crucial…each of them from Reed to Doubs has proven they are capable.

That said everyone knows anyone slip like last year (wicks and Reed were autrocious at drops) Golden is hungry to takeover and Heath has quietly been just waiting and answering the bell EVERY type it rings.

They all have work to do. No doubt about it. We can't afford to see a repeat of last year.

The WR Better not be dropping an abnormal % of passes in 2025.
With Golden now in the house and likely Savion coming back soon. Watson in the shadows already sending someone out to pasture upon return.
PLUS Musgrave is back and itching to pick up where he left off.
I’m pretty sure we’ll have a WR or Two just waiting for a chance to be elevated off Practice Squad.
I think the leash will be a whole lot shorter this year for WR’s if the drops continue to be an issue. No WR is immune to sitting out imo. Too many hungry Dogs who will gladly eat the slack on the leash.

Eh I don’t see the PS, Golden will get more snaps, Heath will and Savion possibly…but in reality this team is more lethal with 12 personnel and a healthy Musgrave complimenting Kraft.

If Wicks can continue to be literally one of the best separation artists in the game and just lower his drops in half….that alone would be just insane.

I think he is on the team because he transitioned to DB and did it well. It's a plus he can do other things but he needed to show that he could play DB imho

Swiss Army knife, who can be deep depth at WR and at CB as well. Makes it easier to shy away from overloading a position to protect it with numbers.

Absolutely on the 12 Person. Musgrave always came across as a Big Pseudo WR anyway. If we can get him going and now with Golden, who’s clearly proving he’s a Dog. I just highly doubt we see a repeat performance of league leading type drops. We’ve got a mix of new blood + the other guys I think know it’s unacceptable. IMO 2024 will be an anomoly on drops.

I really still think Musgrave has the Receiving ability mixed with athleticism to do some damage. In the mold of Tucker Kraft receiving numbers, but without the level of blocking ability and more just out hustling his opponent.

This is what I’d predict as well. We very well could end up with 6 guys all over 600 yards receiving (Doubs, Reed, Wicks, Golden, Musgrave and Kraft)

That’s without factoring in Watson who could come back anytime after week 4 it seems….

I live in a D-1 college town asst. coaches coordinators etc. up and down my little street, the turnover the 5 years I’ve lived here is mind blowing, house across the street ($750k) has sold 3x in 5 years (last was Oline coach), a microcosim of the football merry go round… and these are the ones who manage to “stay in the game”.

We shall see. Maybe his hands will be better at catching balls on D.

There's still time to get into our Fantasy Football League. It's open to all who want in, and it's free. Just a bunch of fans who enjoy the friendly competition, no experts are in our group whatsoever. Just go to our Fantasy Football board and find the post that tells you how to get into our league and your in the family.

Good luck! It's going to be a fun year.

Lions are currently 4th oldest roster and have 28 free agents in '26. Their playoff window is rapidly closing, imho, and are pushing for one last "big year" in '25.
Vikings are 8th oldest and have 18 free agents in '26.
Bears are 16th youngest/oldest team and have 24 free agents in '26

Packers will have tough decions to make but don't appear to be in any worse situation than the other NFC North teams.
