Lol at Brett has lesser talent.
Uhm .... its 6 years with a top 10 def out of 15 years (0,4) for Brett vs 4 out of 11 (0,36) for Rodgers ... - and How many times as division Winners and play offs ? :D

But it seems to me that your bias towards Favre makes you ignore the fact that overall the team around Rodgers in generel has been better than it was during Favres time ... Yet Rodgers still hasnt accomplished as much with the Packers ...

And Yes, you are Right - I’ve always been more fond of Favre than Rodgers, because Favre was a Leader and the team played harder for him, than They seem to do for Rodgers ... ;)

I can't say I think Rodgers had better players. I think Brett did. .. Just my opinion...

Again on average I believe Brett benefited with better Def....did players play harder for Brett? I would say yes... But some players rejoiced the day he was traded. Even some on offense.

I was a huge Brett fan. And you know this... Brett could wow me with amazing skill and on the next snap, wow me with such stupid throws.

Rodgers sucked this year for his standard..

Honestly, I think its very close though ... And my opinion differs from yours mostly because of the stats ... I didn’t have the opportunity to watch the teams up close like you have and do.

Brett had better running backs.. Green... Grant

And better lineman. Rivera, Verba, Timmerman., Wahle

TE.. Chewy, Franks, jackson

Maybe Rodgers has edge with wr.. But Brett had driver, brooks, sterling, free,

The only thing that matters is wins. Look at games to date. Favre has more wins, better playoff record and two Super Bowl appearances to one. Packers had one losing season with Favre and they’ve had two with Rodgers (three if you count last tears injury season). Keep your interceptions stats. I’ll take wins

Rodgers is more gifted when it comes to accuracy, careful with the ball. Favre leadership, giving his all, stronger arm. On paper Aaron, wins Favre, oh and Favre come from behind win percentage is also higher

The total amount of wins is a terrible metric to compare Favre and Rodgers. While it's pretty close Rodgers has a better winning percentage than Favre had with the Packers in both the regular season and the playoffs.

You serious ???

Favre:

Years with Top 3 defense - 2 / 15 years
Years with Top 5 defense - 3 / 15 years
Years with Top 10 defense 6 / 15 years

Years with Top 3 offense - 2 / 15
Years with Top 5 offense - 4 / 15
Years with Top 10 offense - 9 / 15

Rodgers:

Years with Top 3 def - 2 / 11 years
Years with Top 5 def - 2 / 11 years
Years with Top 10 def - 4 / 11 years

Years with Top 3 offense - 3 / 11
Years with Top 5 offense - 5 / 11
Years with Top 10 offense - 8 / 11

Suffice to say, with a Top defense Packers under Favre went to Back-to-Back Super Bowls, not to mention only one single losing season ever ...

I still think Favre accomplished more as a Packer with less overall talent than Rodgers has so far ...

While Football Outsiders' DVOA is an interesting metric it definitely isn't the be-all and end-all. Taking a look at points scored (which is still the most important aspect in a football game) the defense ranked within the top 10 in points allowed seven times during Favre's tenure while only twice with Rodgers. On offense Favre currently still holds an edge with 12 seasons in the top 10 in points scored compared to eight for Rodgers.

Let's just keep it objective here

That's pretty objective. So is this, Brett Favre 336 interception. Aaron Rodgers 80. Favre was more exciting to watch, but I'd take Rodgers every time. Both turned into Divas, but Favre much more so, in my subjective opinion.

This awful season that Rodgers has had that have so many people up in arms, it's really funny actually. Let's take a look at it:

This is what Rodgers did this year.

25 TD passes - Favre threw less than that 6 times
2 interceptions - Favre never had a season with less than 13
62.3% completions - Favre had 9 seasons worst than that
4,442 yards - Farve never threw for more in a season
97.6 rating - Favre had one season with a higher rating
3 4th quarter comebacks - Favre's record for a season is 3.

This season clearly illustrates why Rodgers is a lesser quarterback than Favre. lmao.

In 9/16 (56.25%) seasons, Favre won double digit games. Rodgers has done that in 7/11 (63.63%) seasons. That includes 2013 (missed or didn't finish 7 games) and 2017 (missed or didn't finish 10 games).

Wanna see what's truly awful? Favre in 2005 throwing 29 interceptions. Best I recall, Rodgers never finished 4-12 either. :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

I could continue but what's the point.

Statistically Rodgers smashes Favre. No debate there. However as has been said numerous times, people tend to like Favre more just because he is more relatable. No one wants to go have a beer with AR. Logical Favre supporters will tell you that if they want the better chance to win then they take AR. But they will also tell you if they were starting a team and had to choose then they would take Favre. Doesn't make sense if you are a black and white these are the numbers guy, but myself (liking Favre a lot more) will even admit that its more about the person and less about raw talent

Oh for sure. I dint say it made sense. But this is why there is pushback on AR at all. Because emotion aside, AR wins every time. But people dont like him. Its almost a 50 50 thing love or hate. I always say if AR was on any team but the Packers, I would hate him. That is why people tend to defend Favre I think

Am I the only one that realizes we’re comparing a starting QB with 19 years of tenure vs.
a QB with 11 years?

How do you argue total stats with a guy that’s only played 57.8% of the total seasons of the second guy

I agree that some people think this, but it makes absolutely no sense to me. One thing is for sure, there's about a 99.9% chance that I'll never be friends with, nor have a beer with, either guy. Give me the guy that's going to win. And to your point, and the point I've made repeatedly, that's #12.

Timing? Favre was the first even decent QB since Starr (well, ****ey, but you know what I mean), whereas AR stepped in after about a decade of at least exciting, perhaps exception QB play.

The weight of the Green Bay world was on his shoulders following up a career like Favre's.

True story, I actually had a Beer with Favre and played golf behind his group once. The beer was a funny story. It was just after he came to the the Packers. He and the Magic Man came into a Milwaukee Bar called "Bucks" if I remember the name correctly. They had a growing entourage of women around them. Favre walked over to where I was sitting at the bar and ordered a beer. I looked up at him, over at the group of women and said "rough life you guys have". He laughed and said "the perks of playing ball". Had I known where his career was about to take him, I might have offered to pay for his beer. :coffee:

To drive my point home...

Little to no respect for Tiger Woods' transgressions, but I'm a huge fan of watching the man play golf. He's simply the best to ever do it. Didn't care for how Kobe carried himself at times, but he was a stone cold blooded assassin that I loved to watch play basketball. Michael Jordan was highly controversial at times, even got into physical confrontations with teammates, but he's the best to ever do it and I'm a fan of his basketball excellence.

I'm a fan of the Green Bay Packers. And regardless of who's wittle feelins' Rodgers may have hurt over the years (I'm talking to you Greg Jennings...you little sissy), the man does his part WAY more often than not. He's our MFing quarterback and I'm not going to engage in counterproductive bashing of the guy that's leading our Packers.

SEPARATE off the field and on the field.

I love them both for what they brought to GB.
But if I’ve got the 1st overall pick and they’re both rookies? I’m taking Rodgers.

Then I’m taking a backup QB with my second selection

I played in a group behind him at a golf course near Gulfport, Mississippi in Summer of 1991 so I believe he had pretty recently just been traded to Green Bay. I wasn't sure about him, seemed about half crazy, or maybe half drunk but he was having a really good time and he sure could hit the hell out of a golf ball.

Was that by chance a course called Diamond Head? Brett played there often. His family lives near by in Kiln (pronounced Kill). His Mom, Bonita and my mom became good friends at one of the local casino's as well as the church. I met Bonita on one of my visits to my parents (the Casino), fun lady to talk to. Bonita knew my mom and I were huge Packer fans, so she was kind enough to "sneak" some Favre memorabilia to my Mom on occasion.
