I am a bit sad to see 'arry Redknapp bail out of his QPR job. He is always good for amusing comments if nothing else.

Harry's a plonker. He's landed well on his feet at every job since the end of the 90's. Spend, spend spend is all he wants to do, and the one transfer window that he's not allowed to spend... he bails.

He has a terrible record of surviving relegation battles, in fact i can't remember the last time he managed a side that had their backs against the wall and in a dog fight, and they came out of it? Maybe Portsmouths first season back in the Prermier League in 2004.

Time to get a cushy little job on Sky with his son i think.

The term plonker started out as a reference to someone who was often drunk on cheap wine (cheap wine is nicknamed plonk). This person was usually a homeless person, or poor person.

Nowadays I would think it means someone who lacks any sort of sophistication.

If Harry was wise he would still be at Tottenham, he got distracted by the then vacant england job which he never got. Daniel Levy gave him his marching orders. Ever since then its been down hill for him, all of his own making for me.......I also lost a bit of respect for him with his outbursts when Chelsea won the Champions League, thereby denying Spurs a place in the following years competion he could have been so much classier.

I used that term purposely, mainly due to Harry being known as a bit of a 'Wheeler Dealer' and a crafty cockney... hence using one of Del Boy's sayings.

"Plonker", "Crafty Cockney", "Del Boy's", "Blotto".... I'm beginning to think I understand German and Nessie better than your Great British English.

I guess I know why some of you Brits like the Packers. GB Packers = Great Britain Packers.

I'm really relieved. :D I know that Cockney is a London slang that is nearly impossible to understand for me as a non-native English speaker. Thats all I know. But who is "Del Boy" ? :cautious:;)

I totally forget sometimes that i'm using an international forum. Apologies for the slang :D

At least I know what a Plonker is now. And I guess if something is "pants", it's not very good I think.

I guess it goes both ways. I know we Americans have some slang that I would have to explain to British and Germans alike.

At least Staggies won today, yeah !
I was at the Aberdeen v ross county game last week, took my 6 yr old daughter along for her first taste of the pitodrie atmosphere, the most exciting thing was the sprinklers coming out of the ground!! but a good result then for us, not so much for county.

did anyone see the Hamilton v Aberdeen game yesterady, shocking performance from the officials, we had three goals chalked off and a clear penalty not given, yet we still won 3-0

taking the bairn to see us play St mirren this weekend, hopefully have another good performance

Thanks guys, the scarf is mine and mine alone :D, it's a centenary scarf from 2003 when we celebrated AFC being 100 years old. it's about the only AFC related thing I own, apart from that hat as well now, as i find it hard to part with £50.00 for a damn t-shirt. I am a typical tight-****** scotsman sometimes.

it was funny at the County game as she had been chanting "come on you reds" along with the rest of the crowd, then started "come on you blues" as county were wearing blue, just glad we weren't playing rangers in that case, i would have been like OH:poop:

I was searching a bag a few days ago in work and noticed a Hamilton Accademicals badge. I did my usual joking remark about never knowing they even had fans. He wasn`t happy, he was one of their star players.

we play Celtic this weekend at parkhead, so a big game. even if we win this weekend celtic still have a three point lead due to a game in hand. i really woud love it if we did win the championship as it's not been done during my time as a football fan. but i fully expect celtics squad to win the title come the end of the season. i just hope we manage to keep it fairly close

Dons are obviously the underdogs but that might me a good position to steal three points.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an away win, I'll watch the highlights on the SPL youtube channel on Monday next week. Would be the second place enough to qualify for Europe ? At least for the Europa League ?
