I read an article in The Athletic yesterday - proclaiming the 2027 draft as very rich in talent. I don't do scouting and I don't watch a ton of college ball.

So just curious who you think would be a good candidate for the Packers, without a first round selection. Thanks all!

RB is probably the deepest and thickest position groups throughout. Especially in the middle rounds. It might even be why GB ignored the position. If we go in with 11 draft picks we’re highly likely to draft a RB and possibly 2 bodies unless Marshawn rises in a big way.

WR is often a thick grouping, but 2027 might be one of those once in every 5 years best of all options drafts. I saw one list 15, RD3-4 graded prospects alone. It’s also the cleanest (defined) Position group at the top without much hesitation.

Edge is one of the stronger groups on Defense. The broader strength grouping appears to be the DL, but Edge is what seems to be bolstering the larger category grouping.

Thanks OS. Well it’s a good draft to have 11 picks. Fortunate that RB is strong. Even if Jacobs plays this season, Gluten will need to be looking for his eventual replacement.

Yes. It would also be highly irregular to skip on RB after not drafting one in 2026.

I did find it interesting they brought in his younger brother, Isaiah Jacobs for a Mini Camp tryout. He’d be a long shot to make the team though.

Excellent discussion for the Draft Section and never too early to start prospect discussions.

Leonard Moore if someone wants an early favorite for top CB in that draft at that position...BUT I plan on us not being able to touch him at all picking LAST in the second round.

Who does Moore play for Ty? From your comment I take it you expect him to be at least a top 15 pick, maybe higher.

Sounds like the draft overall is one of the deepest in years. That's good timing as the Packers will have, I think, 11 picks. Makes it easier for Gluten to move up if there is a player he wants within reach.

If Moore falls out of the fist round it would be a massive fall. He plays for Notre Dame.

Concerning 2027, For now I’d focus a couple of key areas.
RB, TE2, OL, LB3, Safety (to pipeline), CB. Then depending on Wyatt’s decisioning I could see going iDT in Day 2 again. Might sound odd but I’d like my chances picking a Pair between #115-125 overall Vs pick #87. You get all night to contemplate and choose a pair of top 20 players leftover from the Day 2 Draft. That’s just me my methodology unless there’s a Bonafide Top 50 type falling into my lap.

We wisely ripped the 2027 bandaid off with Wicks and Gary a year early in 2026. Those 2 currently reworked deals for a combined $25Mil guaranteed and combined $28.5Mil Annual Average. Their bottles were marked with “RD4+RD5 Instant Deposit”+ a bonus 2028, RD6 pick. It’s just wise maneuvering to grip tightly for the fiscal Curve up ahead.

Parting early with good players is tough in the now. Although I’d argue it’s time to push Lukas into the limelight and imo Dani Dennis is every bit as talented as JJ Enagbare. I’m not down on Enagbare as much as I’m up on DDS for $1.37Mil annually over $10Mil for JJ Enagbare. I just think that’s a big chunk of change for what’s likely at most a 3rd Edge.
NET $8.6Mil + future Day 3 pick.

I think GB should draft Josh’s replacement in 2027. However This 3027 draft has strong RB2 options. One approach is to Double down like we did with Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams one year. We likely have 5 picks in RD4-5 and that’s perfect for landing at least 1 dynamic Rusher. I’d get a dual threat and a more traditional workhorse RB with size. One that is at least functional as a blocker and receiver in that 215-225lb range.

L.J. Martin, BYU

Option 2: Here’s an intriguing prospect although on the smaller side at 5’11” 205lb. Yet he produces a very good missed tackle and YAC rates (887 after contact yards) He has some pass catching growth to exploit. He is considered a near-Elite level Pass Blocker or the best in class blocker and you’ll see that in every last Scouting write up. With His fit as a Zone Rusher and high reliability protecting our QB imo he’s going to be on radar imo. His 12.8 Yards per reception are approaching Marshawn Lloyd impact numbers.

Funny thing when you watch Raymond. He looks underwhelming, but he actually utilizes patience to allow blocks to develop and then has an uncanny ability to use cutbacks, jump cuts and slices through tiny seams in the Defense for chunk plays. He’s not flashy at all, but is very secretly crafty and plays with a vigorous style like a smaller Jamaal. Average Traits. High effort. Elite Vision

Imo more RB2 and if Lloyd works out as RB1? Antwan becomes a perfect compliment likely RD5 in a thick class unless 2026 changes his outlook etc.
Antwan Raymond, Rutgers
