With the loss of Fitzpatrick last night, coupled with the concussion to Whyle, and of course Kraft's injury... I think at least calling Marcedes Lewis needs to happen. All he would really need to do is come in and block. Plus, he already knows MLF's system, so it should be a fairly easy transition to come in and play right away.
I'm just not seeing the necessity of TEs all the time. When ours went out, we put in an extra tackle. And we could be more dynamic with another receiver.

Well we are down to Musgrave, so if he goes out, then who takes his place?

Don't we have 2 TEs on the practice squad?
Possibly 1, as Whyle was elevated after the Kraft injury. I just think that Lewis, if nothing else, would add some veteran leadership and experience to the group.

You want a rah rah guy? We've got our team and it's good. Hopefully we learned something these past two weeks. One that we can win and two don't take the foot off the accelerator. Both in O and on D.

TE's Dabney & Castles are both on PS. This team needs much more than a young, inexperienced TE elevated. Will this guy change the stale redzone offensive play calls? Will he throw a block that keeps 4 defenders from hammering Jacobs? Will he be the #1 hands-team receiver on the next on-side kick? Will he keep DL's from rag-dolling our QB's?

Which is why I would prefer a veteran to be brought in. Not comfortable with another PS elevation at that position.

We could have used another TE or two on that onside kick.

Replay of the onside kick showed Watson, Melton, Bullard & McKinney getting steamrolled by Bears on the way to get the ball from Doubs. Why not have some actual blockers in front to slow their progress? Sheesh, really poor alignment, imho.

Next week we will see the Ravens use all 3 TEs against us. And we do not match up well with that. Oh, we miss Micah.

Like Bostick?
I think he means to get some bigger bodies in there to block the charging players and open it up more clearly for Doubs. In fact, why didn't we have that? Seems like we should. On the other hand, you have to be able to get out of the way of the ball. Maybe have a mix?

Good question. Kinda surprised we didn’t put a TE on Practice Squad once Tucker went down.

While Marcedes could be pulled from the Denver PS, he would need to remain on the Active Roster through our Wildcard game. That gets tricky because we have other players ready to return (Collin Oliver etc) and that puts someone else at jeopardy of being moved to PS and being similarly poached.

My guess is it’s likely 1 of either Whyle (already held out 1 week for concussion protocol) or Fitz will play against Baltimore. Now they believe BOTH are more seriously injured and will miss 2 contests? Lewis is a possible target.

It’s a very fair thought. Honestly I quickly checked where Deguara was at as well. Fitz loss is not good, he isn’t a great TE but he has been very dependable.

The issue is how long you have to keep him on active after pulling off a PS

I think Miami should release Rasul Douglas so we can pick him up. Nixon and Valentine are burnt toast.

I think it's 3 games, but with Kraft and Fitz both out for the year, and we always seem to dress 3 all season, it shouldn't matter.

Just hope Wyle will clear this week. The Ravens can loan us one of their 3.

Can’t believe we lost another TE for the season. Yeah Brian is going to need to sign one here. Probably already in talks or about to poach one.

There’s probably a couple of very good options on someone’s PS.

Has to be someone somewhere even if he can just block.

Not sure this post has a good place, so I will put it here. As a fan of the Packers, I do enjoy watching them play. However, the viewing experience of ALL NFL games has really degraded over the years, all in the name of making MORE money through advertising. While it is noticeable when watching on TV, it is REALLY noticeable when you are sitting/standing in the stands, wondering when the TV timeout will be over and when the next one will make everything grind to a halt again.

I watch a lot of NCAA Women's Volleyball and Hockey. The viewing experience is smooth and packed from start to finish with excitement, with fewer commercials.

Anyway, here is an interesting fact that I found. "In a 3-hour NFL game, the time the ball is in play equals about eleven minutes". So for a 3 hour investment of our time, you get to see 11 minutes of actual play.

Thats why it cracks me up when guys are “gassed”…. Seriously??
