Well, it takes two to tango.
Yup and in the case of a player not being resigned to a teams practice squad, but signed to another, one or both original partners made a conscious decision to sit out that next dance.

In the case of King, a guy that many thought would be on the Packers 53, I think the dance was over before the cutdown day. So on Tuesday the decision wasn't about whether King would be on the 53 or the PS, it was a decision that King was done in Green Bay and one that reporters said was made ahead of cutdowns. Who decided that King was done? No clue, but doesn't matter, he is a Panther and I hope he does well.

With 2 spots left why not target some free agents edge: Clowney/Barrett and CB: Gilmore/Samuel. Move our roster via ir or what not to make room.

I won't be surprised to see Gute do something with those 2 PS positions, other than just fill them with players that didn't make the Packers 53 man roster. Remember, they can't just slide guys from the 53 to the Practice squad just yet. They would be subjected to waivers first.

Also, keep in mind, the Free agents you mentioned I think have been available for awhile now. If the Packers had wanted to sign them prior to Tuesday, it was an available option. Often times we don't hear all the reasons that the Packers and other teams don't sign these guys. It can be money, scheme fit, injuries, no interest from 1 or both sides.

I will say this though, as the start of the 2025 season nears, all those Free Agents who still want to play, are now in panic mode and probably willing to play for less than they were asking 3 months ago.

I forgot, once Clayton Tune and Dalton Cooper pass their physicals and officially put on the PS, they Packers will have 2 spots. However, I assume if he clears waivers, they will try to sign CB Micah Robinson to the PS. Robinson originally "made" the 53, but was cut when the Packers picked up LB Nick Neimann.

Gute may not be too quick to fill that spot, hoping for another transaction or 2 before he fills it.
