Should the packers retire #1?

    To my knowledge only one player has worn the number 1. Since they aren't giving it out, shouldn't they retire the number?

    Retire it in honor of who? Why deplete the pool when in a generation or two you might need it? Maybe Tebow will use it instead of #15. (ducking)

    They've placed it "out of service" just in case they need it. Hornung's number is the same way. Actually had a kid wear 5 this offseason, he just never made the team. Can't retire everyone lest you have 5 #6 on the same roster.
