What trades

Yesterday I counted 10 picks today now hardy any in 4th or 5th. What did they get in trades?

Based on all the pre draft hype, Gute with 12 picks was going to be really active and maybe trade up enough to end with 7-8 picks. We ended up with 12 - 11 players and sent one into the future. Was the trading reports a misdirection, poor reporting, hope, or just the way the board fell? Last is my guess. Someone has to want what you are offering.

For me it was hope but once we traded the 3rd rounder to Seattle it kind of screwed things up a bit. Its hard to move high into a round without having a pick in that round to swap. I think, had we had that third rounder Gute may have tried harder to trade up in the second but he would have had to give up quite a few picks 4th and later to do it. He did move back up into the third but without having a 3rd rounder to swap as part of a deal it was probably difficult to move up any higher than he did. Once day three hit I don't think it mattered any more. At that point you might as well take all the picks you can get.
