More than just putting up numbers I hope we can see the focused and more disciplined team we saw in WK 1. They looked more like a veteran group than the league's youngest. And they maintained the intensity for 4 quarters. Can the coaching staff duplicate that?

My wish list include domination by the defense and the continuing development of Matthew Golden as a playmaker.

That and no blocked kicks.

Should. But our easiest game appeared to be Detroit, ironically. After the last two weeks we cannot take anything lightly or even comfortably. There have been surprises this year whether it be one bad game, one bad quarter, or even one bad play that turned victory into defeat. So we have to come into this game to take care of business like we are facing a playoff team and convince the rest of the league that WE are the playoff team.
Oh I’m not talking about taking anyone lightly. I’m talking about going in with the goal of scoring 35 points. That’s the antithesis of taking a team lightly. It’s challenging ourselves to perform at a high level. It’s also an area that I doubt the Bengals Offense can compete toe to toe with ours. My interest coinciding with your wish list. Our Offense needs to stop playing down to our competition like we did with Cleveland.

I'd push back on that some, you cannot plan on multitude of guys to go down. Kinnard has had good and bad. Each team should likely have or hope to have two OL guys that can come in and play which is tough to know for sure because typically thats going to have to be young rookie contract guys that haven't proven anything or veterans that have not proven capable or are at the end of their careers and declining.

If healthy this team has a proven NFL caliber guy in Morgan in reserve - he has struggled when asked to be RT and plays much better on left side in general.
Belton who man has some reps that are just glorious, but is that rookie still trying to swim in the deep end of things.
Monk - who has seen and shown some stuff but has been injured.
Kinnard - has been a run blocking savant last two weeks and was one of our best OL against Dallas across the board.

John Williams also is a guy that got hurt too...

Gute built out that OL room depth tremendously...to the point many thought it was TOO much.
Yeah that's fair - it is certainly unusual to lose Tom, Banks, and Belton to injury at once. And Banks (FA) and Belton (Draft) were acquired to address OL depth.

I agree that Morgan plays better on the left side. He isn't as versatile in that regard as other members of the OL. One of the criticisms of handling Morgan is expecting him to play too many positions, without much of an opportunity to excel at any. So he has had his playing time increase, and we should start to see consistent play from him.

I disagree that the OL was depth was addressed TOO much. It's just necessary to have fewer guys injured, and for those that do play, to cut down on the holding and false start penalties.

And I hope Wyatt returns this week. With Clark's departure, Wyatt is needed for run defense. Gluten could only do so much in FA and the draft, and he focused on the OL. The additions or Parsons makes up for a lack of depth on the DL.

Now hopefully they get all or most of these guys back and have a statement game against the undermanned Bengals.

Well that's what we'll find out. Is this the team from weeks 1 and 2, or 3 and 4? In fairness, the OL has been hit hard by injuries, and they'll need Wyatt back.

I think they are more like the team we saw in weeks 1 and 2. It's time to get back in that groove.

Yeah I hate excuses, and provide none. One or two plays could have meant a W against both Cleveland and Dallas. But the O was horrible against Cleveland and impressive against Dallas. Time to put it all back together and punish the Bengals.

I read The Pack brought in 6 defensive linemen for a look. Was that bs?

Oh great I just read McManus is hurt after practice. I hope we don't need him Sunday to be making FGs to win.

Yeah we might see a signing honestly.
We might. It's also possible that LaFleur just goes for it on every 4th down on the opponent's side of the field, and XPs. It worked for Belichik a few years back, and might encourage a more aggressive play-calling pattern by our HC.

I mean outside of asking him to kick 50 yard game winners our International kicker is capable leg wise...kickoffs and XPs (so long as blocked) I assume he'd at most mess up once.

I didn't see it, but what is wrong with McManus? From the comments, seems very unlikely he will be available Sunday. Hopefully it won't matter, but he'll be needed eventually.

Anyway, just wondering what happened to him. Thanks all!

I think the last time the Packers faced a non-division QB twice in the regular season was 2011 against Kyle Orton, when he was with Denver and lost to GB, but then beat GB when he was with KC. We can flip the script against Flacco.

Yeah the chances of a Flacco (today's Joe Flacco) led team beating this year's Packers twice is very unlikely. (In fairness, the Browns' victory was a testimony to their #1 defense, and some mind farts by MLF and some players - oh and STs).

But equally unlikely were the Giants demolishing the Eagles last night. Halloween is coming early.

Bottom line - the Packers, or more specifically MLF, needs to have this team (and himself) ready to go each week. They have so much talent, it's tragic to see a loss and a tie that could have been wins with just a little more awareness from MLF. And yeah, there were other guys involved in the loss as well. Wins and losses are always team events.

Quad. He claims he is fine and will play through but Coach thinks worse than he does

Thanks Ty, didn't know that. Well hopefully, he won't be needed on Sunday. I'm looking for a two or three score win over the Bengals.

The injury report is a bit scary. We seem to only have Jenkins and Rhyan as the only healthy O-Linemen in the whole room.

McManus looks like he'll play, so that's good, but those O-Line issues..JESUS

Even with a week off the Packers appear to be the slowest healing team in the league. Had we not had the bye I suspect the injury list would have 20 players on it.

We're not the only team in this game to have health issues. Jamar Chase is questionable, along with 3 of their starting OL - the center and both guards. Might be a good day for our D to get back on track.

And on D, Shemar Stewart is doubtful.

I suppose anything can happen. I just have a hard time believing that Cincinatti led by Joe Flacco becomes a stumbling block. I’ve got a suspicion that GB takes this game very seriously. Either the game appears to start close and Cincinnati gives us a scare for a Qtr or 2? Then Jacobs and Love go off. OR… GB just runs up the scoreboard and later in the 4th Cincinnati has another comeback to get within 2 scores and the final 10 point score margin doesn’t reflect the absolute beatdown

I will offer that Joe Flacco is very good at the short game. It’s what he does to compensate for an inadequate long game. It’s also an antidote to an over aggressive pass rush. Jeff has to know this and be careful not to get impatient. Rush 4 regular and let those boys work. Our D is plenty good to get an above average Pass Rush and only use the Blitz on occasion such as 3rd n 7+.
I’d keep 3-4 more Defenders in the box and just stifle the short game. This is what we did to Washington, but Flacco won’t require the Spy resources that Jayden did

Well, Flacco is probably the least mobile QB in football. Even more than Rodgers. If he does not get the pass off he is toast. No matter what we BETTER take this game seriously.

Agree milani. MLF and everyone else should have learned from the last two games that nothing can be taken for granted. Yeah they have had injuries, but so what?

The Bengals OL is supposed to be weak. So hopefully MLF establishes the run and then goes to RPO. And I expect another big day from the D, with some turnovers for a change.

So Tom, Banks, and Belton are not expected to play? I suppose there is some logic in resting them against a weak opponent with injuries of their own. But damn they need a win here. All men on board.
