That's all good news, especially Banks and Tom and even Flacco. Flacco is way past his prime, and the Cleveland D had a lot more to do with that loss than Joe Flacco and the rest of the Cleveland offense.

Looking forward to getting Watch and Monk back. Thx for the update.

His Browns won, although Flacco was not much of a contributor. Put him out there ahead of Browning and we'd love it.

oh it won't matter who is their QB between them. GB controls their destiny this game - it was just a cool reference that Flacco could do something I don't think anyone has done.....start at QB and win against the same team twice in a year BUT for different teams.

Never thought about that possible record-book factoid. As you say, GB controls their destiny. They had a lot of time to think about the previous four games, what was working, what wasn't working - and hopefully fixed some or all of it. And if they can get back Tom and Banks - well that's a big deal.

I read somewhere that Parsons wanted to use the bye to meet with Hafley and discuss other ways he could be used. I hope this happened. As great as Parsons is, he came in just before the season started. There was very little time to learn the play book. That makes his play over the first four games even more amazing.

Hopefully Hafley remembers how good Cooper is at getting after the QB. Cooper has been unusually quiet so far this year. And I don't care who actually gets the sacks or pressures, as long as it's a good scheme or Parsons creating pressures and sacks just by his presence.

I understand Cooper was adding "good" LBS this off season. has anyone maybe focus and looked at all 22. Is there any early ideas as to what may be differant from last year. I just see maybe over pursuit..and missed tackles.

Cooper IMO stacked three good games and then a rough one against Dallas. Dallas was his worst game as a pro. **** happens, it is as of now an outlier and I'm not worried. Really the only thing which has been much less than last year for him is his tackling.

I am expecting the Packers to crush the Bengals in this one...They need a get-right game, and Cincinatti is clearly struggling right now.

If this game is close in the fourth quarter, then there is reason for concern, IMHO.
Agreed. A team as talented as the Packers needs to/should crush a team like Cincinnati. Everything has gone wrong for the Bengals and this is no room for mercy. The Packers need to put on an offensive and defensive school. And STs will be fine as long as they don't keep making mistakes.

The Packers need a statement win, and this is the perfect time.

Cooper is a very good LB with the ability to get after the QB, something the Packers haven't had in a long, long time.

Walker is good, and fast, but seems more suited to run defense, and even dropping into coverage, rather than a sack specialist. He's also good at sealing the edge and containing a RB.

All three players - Cooper, Walker, McDuffie - make for a strong LB group. Add in Parsons, Gary, and LVN off the edge and it's a D that should be getting not just sacks and pressures, but TOs.

Hopefully Wyatt returns this week. I didn't realize how much he contributes until he was taken out of the game. And not having Clark around makes the job of the DL that much more important. They can't afford injuries or mistakes. I won't be surprised if Gluten adds a player to fortify the group before the trade deadline.

One of the more alarming trends for this team is the lack of quality depth, something that Gluten made moves to address in the off season, especially along the OL.

But when Banks, Tom, and Belton went down - Morgan and Kinnard did not play well. I didn't expect much from Kinnard, but certainly did for Morgan. And when when Wyatt left the game, the DL's play dropped quite a bit. It's a concern for both the OL and DL.

I'd push back on that some, you cannot plan on multitude of guys to go down. Kinnard has had good and bad. Each team should likely have or hope to have two OL guys that can come in and play which is tough to know for sure because typically thats going to have to be young rookie contract guys that haven't proven anything or veterans that have not proven capable or are at the end of their careers and declining.

If healthy this team has a proven NFL caliber guy in Morgan in reserve - he has struggled when asked to be RT and plays much better on left side in general.
Belton who man has some reps that are just glorious, but is that rookie still trying to swim in the deep end of things.
Monk - who has seen and shown some stuff but has been injured.
Kinnard - has been a run blocking savant last two weeks and was one of our best OL against Dallas across the board.

John Williams also is a guy that got hurt too...

Gute built out that OL room depth tremendously...to the point many thought it was TOO much.

I'm sure you saw the Bengals picked up Joe Flacco from the Browns. Ugh, I hope it's not a repeat of week three. Don't need that kind of deja vu.

I hope Cooper is allowed to play his game a bit more. He is instinctive on jumping through holes in the line and tackling ball carriers for instance. jmo but I think Haf has him on a bit of a leash. I'd like to see Cooper with more freedom this game.

Push back some, the Dallas game was no different Cooper was flashing and attacking, problem was the dude was tackling like he was a middle schooler...he time and time again was in the spot and missed it.

He is pacing this year at the same performance he did last year....finish the year with essentially 4 sacks about 113 tackles (12 TFLs)...

That's true on a few plays. I think he needs more freedom to play the way he can. Some players are better if they don't feel like they are in a box. He's probably one of those. imho

And hopefully block for their kicker.

More than just putting up numbers I hope we can see the focused and more disciplined team we saw in WK 1. They looked more like a veteran group than the league's youngest. And they maintained the intensity for 4 quarters. Can the coaching staff duplicate that?

Hopefully we can beat Joe Flacco this time. It would be very embarrassing if we lost to him twice in 4 weeks when the guy isn't even in our conference.

Defensively, Only the Ravens (21 TD) have allowed more TD’s than the Bengals (20). While changes have been made at QB, it doesn’t negate this is a bottom 5 Defense coming to Lambeau.

On Green Bay’s Defense. GB dropped to #11 in Points Allowed after a high scoring OT shootout.
Total Yards Allowed/gm #4
Passing Yds Allowed/gm #11
Rushing Yds Allowed/gm #1

This is a game where The Packers Defense should be able to stifle a Bengals Offense who ranks #32 in yards per game. It starts with getting a takeaway or two and limiting self inflicted Penalties.

Should. But our easiest game appeared to be Detroit, ironically. After the last two weeks we cannot take anything lightly or even comfortably. There have been surprises this year whether it be one bad game, one bad quarter, or even one bad play that turned victory into defeat. So we have to come into this game to take care of business like we are facing a playoff team and convince the rest of the league that WE are the playoff team.
