And it's time to pay up for some of the outstanding draft picks, like Gibbs who will get close to Barkeley money eventually.

Last but hardly least: Three-time Pro-Bowl selection Jahmyr Gibbs and the Lions reached agreement today on a three-year, $67.5 million deal that could be worth up to $75.75 million and includes $51.5 million guaranteed, now making him the NFL’s highest-paid running back

2026 sounds like a good year for the players. No wonder the NFL is seeking more venues to make more money. They need it.

Thanks HE, that was fast! Wow that is big money for a RB. I think Barkeley is paid about $18m AAV. Gibbs will be at $22.5 mil AAV and maybe more. That signing bonus is huge.

No kidding milani. Gibbs is terrific, but damn that is a big number for a RB, and an eye-watering amount of guaranteed $$$.

Well the Lions, like all teams, eventually have to pay up for their good drafting. It's a good "problem" to have. I didn't realize that Gibbs has played three seasons. I thought it was two. Time flies.

Back to Kraft - when is he due to be paid? Could it happen this year? I forgot when he was drafted. Regardless GB is gonna have to pay him. Sooner is almost always better as far as $$$. Can't let that guy get away, but it's gonna be expensive.

Kraft has only this year left. I'm sure they would like to resign him. Just not in a huge hurry after the injury imho

Good point about being cautious after a major injury. It looks like Kraft will be available to start the season. Assuming he goes back to his usual production, if not more, I'm sure they'll get him signed then, mid-season.

There will be new injuries. Let us hope they are minimal, especially to the top players. We had some big losses in the MM era. Rodgers twice, Jordy, Matthews. But ironically the most successful MM season was the same year we had the most while placing 15-16 on IR. Go figure.
Yes. That’s where depth is so important. Last year we had great Starters but I felt like depth was substandard. OL, CB, DL depth hurt us in 2025. This year all 3 have been addressed to the point we should have a pretty solid bottom.
That and several starters coming off Injury designations that can help as the season develops.
