They lost one game, right? I think it was to Miami, but that's just from memory.Good thing the 85 Bears didn't go undefeated, we'd really never hear the end of it.
Anyway, had they gone undefeated - well we'd still be hearing about it.

Yeah, one game, Miami. Even without going undefeated, we still hear about how they're the best team of all time. They lost one game, right? I think it was to Miami, but that's just from memory.

But in the last 5 years the Packers have lost once to each of them.Bad Management...... all off them. Success and failure of any organization always, always, always lays at the feet of any organization's top management.
That's true, we will always be hearing about the 85 Bears from Bear fans. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. In the case of Bear fans, it's only once.Yeah, one game, Miami. Even without going undefeated, we still hear about how they're the best team of all time.
Thanks rmontro. I remember that team for their D. It's easier to argue that that was the best defense ever than the best team ever, and even that is easy to question. or at least challenge.Yeah, one game, Miami. Usually, when the simile of the 85 Bears is used it references the Defense as being the greatest, although the 2000 Ravens have to be considered. And that was a team with a QB ( Dilfer ) who was even less a force than McMahon. That's true, we will always be hearing about the 85 Bears from Bear fans. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. But the 85 Bears as the "best team of all time"? Funny that GOATs are talked about and there is seldom a lot of disagreement, at least not over the contenders - Brady - NFL, Jordan/James/Russell - NBA, Ruth - MLB, Gretzky - NHL.
But the greatest team in the history of a sport is subject to much more conjecture. The 85 Bears were a truly great team. I just find it hard to name a team with Jim McMahon as QB as the "best team ever". Best defense? There is a better argument.
GOATs can be determined easier than teams because there are not as many variables.
So no, the 85 Bears are not the best team ever in the NFL, but certainly belong in that conversation. I think it's impossible to make a case for a team. It's harder to argue about a player - with Brady having the best lock on GOAT than any other player in any other sport. Just MO……..
McMahon missed a lot of games while in Chicago because of his reckless style of play. And that enraged Ditka because he had to prepare the backup so often. Ditka actually benched him against the Niners in a playoff because he thought he'd be too rusty. McMahon thought he had the body of Cam Newton. And he paid for it. However, he did win some games with OTHER teams who were not the 85 Bears.Don't know why so many downgrade the accomplishments of McMahon. I think it's an example of relying on stats too much.

Well, they were certainly known for their defensive, which was quite impressive, to put it mildly. I remember watching them and it seemed like when the other team had the ball, they would go backwards. But they also get called best ever for their dominant playoff run, winning 21-0, 24-0, and 46-10. Crazy. Thanks rmontro. I remember that team for their D. It always occurs to me that McMahon has two rings while Favre has one.And even though he was no more than a sideline ear for Favre, McMahon was on our roster and made Holmgren feel a little more secure if his Iron Man went down.
Imo McMahon's playing days were basically over by the time he got to GB.It always occurs to me that McMahon has two rings while Favre has one.

But the 2000 Ravens beat some of their defensive records. I've always said if they were the greatest team of all time, how come they never won another Super Bowl? Seems like being good enough to repeat should be in there somewhere. But there are reasons for that, and they always say "best team for one year only".
Think 50 cent had a worse oneIt was an awful ceremonial pitch. The worst I've seen. The only way this pitch could have been worse is if there was an actual batter and Willis hit him.
And it hurts even more because Willis is a QB, where throwing accuracy is kinda important......
Anyway, it's nothing more than a joke video now for "Worst Ceremonial Pitch Ever".
I wish Willis a long and successful career in Miami. No joking.
And Willis gets to come to Lambeau this year when it is time to let it Snow.Think 50 cent had a worse one
