The Packers are dead last in:

Total yards per game with 389.7

Passing yards per game 293.3 (WAY behind 31st Houston at 247.2)

30th in first downs/game with 21.5

31st in yards per reception with 5.8

30th in 4th downs made with 6 of 9.

31st in field goals made against them with 14.

22nd in turnover ratio with -3

A couple positives are a tie for 8th in 3rd downs made against them, and a tie for 7th in penalties commited.

Individually:

Woodson 3 forced fumbles (tied for lead among NFL DBs)
Kampman 3 (tied for 2nd among NFL DLs)
KGB 1

Kampman 1 fumble recovery
Jenkins 1
Hawk 1
Barnett 1

Kampman 6.5 sacks (tied for 3rd among NFL DLs)
KGB 2.5
Hawk 2.5
Williams 2
Montgomery 1.5
Jenkins 1
Woodson 1
Carroll 1

Barnett 2 interceptions (tied for lead among NFL LBs)
Poppinga 1
Woodson 1
Harris 1
Manuel 1

Woodson 1 touchdown
Manuel 1

The one thing that stands out individually is the lack of any forced fumbles by the linebackers. That, and besides one good play a couple weeks ago, the safeties haven't done JACK.

Go. Find. A. Competent. Safety. Or. It's. Your. ***.

There are only two truly important stats for a defense - takeaways and points allowed. As far as I'm concerned, I don't care if we give up 400+ yards a game if we're getting three takeaways and allowing 10 points.

The bad news is besides that last game, we're not getting takeaways and in six games, we've allowed 162 points. That's 27 points allowed a game. That's not acceptable.

depends on what he does with the rest of the season.

If the D improves, id like to see him back with new DB coaches.

Slay is a great hitter but he'd get lost in coverage, he'd be a decent guy to have at the LOS on the blitz though.

HAHA....never mentioned the man......stop deflecting. Pointing out that Manuel was a bad pickup is not TT bashing. In fact you yourself said he sucks. Are you bashing TT?

The coaches have decided to go with the nickel more and keep Hawk on the field in more passing situations.

We will see more 3-3-5's than we will see the dime. They will sometimes have Poppinga line up like he's a fourth down lineman but won't actually use him that way much. They want to keep Hawk in there more because he is a playmaker and want him on the field plus they will blitz him more than anybody else in this package.

They are trying to bring Blackmon along as fast as possible. The coaches really like his coverage skills. Once he gets a little PT he will hopefully contribute a lot in this scheme. It looks like they would like to blitz with Woodson on occasion and need Blackmon as a cover guy when they do that.

Adjustments. The name of the game. Getting a feel for what will work best wth the personnel they have.

warhawk....I like that idea because Hawk has shown he can cover and we lack depth in the defensive backfield.

I like their thinking on this and if Blackmon can keep progressing as a cover guy we will have three out there that can go one on one with the receivers.

That would allow us to bring it from all kind of different packages out of the 3-3-5.

We are certainly missing Underwood. He was an athletic kid that showed a lot before he went down. I believe he would be getting a lot of PT if he was here.
