Rank the picks 1-10 based on the impact they will have during their careers as Green Bay Packers.
Adams will not be a "sack" player...probably ever. He is the type of player who will stuff runners near the line of scrimmage and open up holes for linebackers to get sacks & pressure the quarterback. I envision Adams as being a 2 sack per year type of player while being completely unappreciated by the casual fan. (Much like Kenny Clark).Oh and Montravious Adams, I'm happy we grabbed a guy that will potentially actually be able to get some interior pressure on the QB. Needed more than Daniels and Clark and a bunch of gap closers. He opens up more defensive packages and interior QB pressure also helps defend the play action as well.
Gilbert Brown spoke to that last year when he appeared on that Clubhouse show. He was asked if he could have gotten more sacks in his career. He said that a NT's assignment may be to hold the middle and not break contain, as was often the case for him.Adams will not be a "sack" player...probably ever. I read that he had a productive year his senior year and seemed to be utilizing the bull rush more, creating sacks, hurries and TFL. It probably depends on how he's utilized, but he will definitely have a job description like you said. Just hope he can do more than just fill gaps as well.Adams will not be a "sack" player...probably ever. Even if I said I was, you wouldn't believe meGilbert Brown spoke to that last year when he appeared on that Clubhouse show. He was asked if he could have gotten more sacks in his career. He said that a NT's assignment may be to hold the middle and not break contain, as was often the case for him.
Are you Gilbert Brown?
Try it...Even if I said I was, you wouldn't believe me
I will tweak it to ranking based on value relative to draft slot. Because if I rank it based on expected impact, the ranking is going to look very similar to the draft order itself.

- Devante Mays
- Kofi Amichia

Didn't realize it was possible to "reach" for a player in the 6th and 7th rounds. Especially a major reach in this case. This is one step up from camp bodies and most likely destined for the practice squad.Major reaches
9. Kofi Amichia
10. Devante Mays

You are right that for most teams 6th and 7th round picks wouldn't realistically be able to qualify as major reaches. But, with Ted's success in those rounds paired with some great talent left on the board that is why I put them in the major reach category.
Thompson has had some success selecting players in the sixth or seventh rounds by picking Starks, Crosby, Jolly, Bishop, Jones and Wilson but he didn't draft a real difference maker that late over his tenure.
But all of those guys are steals and some played intregal roles in Green Bay winning a Super Bowl. You don't get many Hall of Famers in the 6th and 7th, but as you just pointed out you can get starters on Super Bowl winning teams. That was my overarching point.
If you look at my post earlier in the thread that might explain a bit. I don't think either of them were draft pick worthy. Hopefully I am wrong. That is why I would classify them in the major reach category, they were Undrafted Free Agents to me. When the Packers were on the clock with pick 212 my "Best Players Available" were
1. Virginia Tech - Wide Receiver - Isaiah Ford
2. Louisville - Safety - Josh Harvey-Clemons
3. Kentucky - Center - Jon Toth
4. Baylor - Wide Receiver - KD Cannon
5. LSU - Wide Receiver - Malachi Dupre

This. And did you actually study film on all of these guys, including the ones who didn't make your list? I find that incredibly hard to believe.I'm not picking a fight here, but I do have a question. Do you really have a good enough sense of those guys in the 6th/7th to feel confident in saying that one guy was a good pick and another was a reach? What is that based on?
