He shut down your boy Sutton. Must be decent.

I believe I had Shaq Griffin mocked to us in the 3rd round last year. Nobody needs to sell me on UCF as an up and coming program that produces talent that can compete at the NFL level.

The Seahawks virtually threw Griffin to the wolves last year right out the gate. I was at the opening game last year and was impressed with how he played.

Ive heard Hughes is supposed to be better.

It'd be crazy if that UCF team turned out to be filled with future NFL stars like the Hurricanes 2001 team

The 2001 Hurricanes team will never again be replicated. The greatest amount of talent on one team, ever.

I would make a sig bet with you that Dallas doesn't take Sutton.

Thoughts?

I still have hopes Sutton doesnt even make it to Dallas. My hopes are he doesnt make it past 14. My position is if he makes it to Dallas they will take him.

Also if the matchup presented itself Huges vs Sutton and Aaron Rodgers was slinging it I believe the outcome would be more favorable to Suttons side. That's a big difference from noodle arm Ben Hicks trying to get the ball to him.

Yes. Having the best QB in the NFL would certainly help. I agree.

Under the supposition that Sutton is available to the Cowboys, you think they take him, I do not. Would you be willing to make a sig bet on that? You win, you get to write my sig for a year. I win, I get to write your sig for a year. If Sutton goes before 19 then the bet is void. Deal?

Deal! This seperation thing on Sutton has been way over played. When you have a QB that is limited on throws he can make on route tree teams and db's figure it out and sit on routes knowing certain throws cant be made which gives the perception that a receiver can't seperate.

Sutton will be long gone by 19. Deal!

You realize that if Sutton is gone by 19 the bet is void, right? For you to win he just has to be taken by the Cowboys, if available.

Just for a point of contention, I disagree here.

Even on deep routes when he wasn't targeted, he wasn't getting separation. That cannot be blamed on the QB. Second, if a DB is sitting on your routes, that is because they don't think you can get deep separation. A DB sitting on routes makes it easier for a good WR to get open deep versus a DB giving a WR cusion. Third, Sutton is supposed to be the type of WR that can create catches when under tight coverage. With his size, that's his niche. So even if his QB isn't very good, he should still be able to create catches against tight coverage.

So if we've got a big college receiver that outmanned every DB he went against that can't create deep consistently, and can't consistently create contested catches, then there are concerns there.

He ended up on a crappy team with a crappy QB and was instrumental in turning it around and made the best of it. He relishes in the underdog role. His junior year he repersented basically 40 percent of there passing offense. He dissapeared in a few games last year and so did Harold Landry and Vita Vea and pretty much every prospect i've seen people wanting to take. He had back to back 1000 yard seasons so not sure how much more he had to prove. I was a little dissapointed at his bowl game but maybe he shut it down a little. Most of these guys dont even suit up for there bowl game anymore and you really cant blame em. What more did he have to prove?

His combine numbers silence a lot of this chatter with pretty elite times for someome his size in 3 cone and 20 yard shuttle which demonstrates short area quickness and agility along with ability to stop and start. So the talent is there.

The only thing that could sweeten the pot for Sutton would be if he timed in the 4.4 range on his 40. But then he would be a guaranteed top ten pick. Like i've posted before i'll take his 4.54 with everything else he brings and smile all day long doing it.

If we can excuse Landrys "trick ankle" then I would hope we could do the same for Sutton for following guidance from family, faith figures and coaches to go back another year and get his degree with another year of maturation under his belt while keeping the goods intact. I actually think its kind of lame if someone can't. I mean what more of character trait can you possibly ask for? This Sutton kid is a breath of fresh air if you ask me.

Show me where Jadeveon Clowney showed up for a game his final year?

Cool.

His senior year he didn't lead his team in receptions, yards, or touchdowns.

But I'm sure that's just his QB's fault.

I just want it to be May already... I can't take anymore of this Sutton talk. Can we talk about another fudging player for fudge's sake?!

If Geronimo Allison wasnt penciled in as our starter currently it wouldnt be such a big deal and I would of left it alone long ago. But thats the reality. Allison is a roster fill out guy. Certainly not a starter and certainly not what AR12 needs to he successful. As much as I like Adams he is a tweener no.1. Cobb is just okay and you gotta factor in injuries. This current cocktail of receivers isnt gonna produce the result were looking for and if it runs live this way it wont be long before people will be saying Rodgers is washed up like they did in 2015.

Lol.

I'll try to stop.

The guy makes it so easy though! How can I let him say DB's sitting on routes makes it more difficult to separate? That's the funniest dang thing I've read here.

I also think the CB most reminiscent of Richard Sherman is not Carlton Davis, but a fellow Stanford alumni in Quenton Meeks.

Big, quick, agile, strong.

I really, really, really, really want Quenton Meeks. And if he doesn't work at CB, he can move to be a single high S.

I gotta believe the Packers have a receiver targeted they Love early in this draft if they wouldnt even pay Matthews 5 million.

You dont pay a QB 30 million guaranteed and then force feed him Geronimo Allison. The Saints would never do that with Brees. The Pats wouldnt with Brady and the Falcons certainly wouldnt with Ryan.

It would be a whole new level of arrogance to roll with what we have and draft a receiver mid round.

To get back on topic, here’s a prospect that I love...

M.J. Stewart, CB from North Carolina.

He’s 5’11” 200, ran a 4.54 at the combine and generally had a solid workout. He’s probably a slot corner at the next level, which we need. He’s really physical in press and run support. He squeezes routes from the slot and gets his hands on a ton of passes. He’s an effective blitzer and has done a bit of punt returning. I’d take him in the 3rd round.

Oh is it? Then why don't you go listen to Richard Sherman who openly talks about it all the time and being a student of the game. He discusses at length about how he studies opposing QB's and what they can do and what they cant and defends receivers accordingly giving him an edge. He has even mocked QB's using this tatic.

Yeah you got me. Thats pretty darn silly. That Brandon2348 is a silly guy. A known liar too. :)

PB, you have some issues. Im not judging. I think you should probably be posting this kind of thing on a Rex Ryan website.

Good thing I held back a bit or you REALLY would have wondered. I think Brandon and JJ need their own room. Maybe the mods can peak in on them from time to time to make sure one hasn't killed and eaten the other. Who knows, could be the start of something special and their own 2 AM internet show?
