Not likely, as the Vikes are starting Brosmer at QB. IIRC, his last start he had a QB Rating in the 30's, and would've had a higher rating if he had spiked the ball straight down 30 times. Detroit should easily win... GB needs to take care of their own destiny.
a bummer to hear that, but then again the bears are next in line to feel the lions wrath. Either way is fine with me.

If we can lose two in a row (like we just did), we can win two in a row.
I like your thinking @rmontro. Merry Christmas btw! Blessings upon you and yours for a strong finish and a better 2026.

Not that I ever want an injury for either team. Yet it’s becoming more likely that it’s Love vs Huntley. While Huntley has been an adequate backup, it’s still a strict disadvantage for Baltimore. They’d be going on the road with a backup QB.

It’s time to punch our ticket. Then watch Chicago to either rest players as a 7th.. or play for a #3 seed by way of a Division Winner.

Interesting viewpoint. Not sure it holds water, but interesting. They certainly can win two in a row, but not because they lost two in a row.

Brosmer is terrible. He cannot go throw progressions before getting sacked. Their line is beat up and Jones got hurt.

I'm still in shock at how HORRIBLE Detroit played today. It is nice that the pressure is off. Watch us go and play lights out!!
Sit the guys who are banged up, if possible. Got to heal up as much as we can. Lions will not have much incentive to beat the Bears next week.

That’s the only bad part. Although the positive thing is we’re a 7th seed with nowhere to go but up.
Even Malik is hurt. If Love can get through protocol it is hard to say what to do. Definitely, sit Jacobs. Ravens are in a different ball game. They cannot lose or they are out. Even then. Slim chance.

They have as much incentive to beat the Bears as the Vikings had to beat them. I've read some comments here that the Bears won't be able to beat the Lions. Personally, I think the Bears have surpassed them though.

Knowing that GB has a playoff game in 2 weeks totally agree... sit Jacobs & Tom.
There’s certainly an argument for taking the odds and resting players.

Only thing is you never know what going to happen week to week. Illness, injury or similar. That goes for both Chicago and Green Bay. We could coast and just rest players for 2 weeks.
Another method is if Malik is good to go? maybe elevate our Practice Squad QB reserve option and safeguard Love and Jacobs and maybe Tom or Watson.

It’s not a terrible idea at all to be thinking just going a 7th seed but knowing 100% we’re fresh and healthy. Plus we’d be able to really study film on our most likely playoff opponent pathway.

I think we play for the Division or rest players once it’s out of reach.
Moving forward I guess it comes down to where do you want to be in the seedings.
Right now we are 7 so we get the 2, most likely the bears. If we manage to get the division things flip and we can become the 2 or 3 depending on how the eagles do. If we are the 3 seed we most likely will get one of the west teams... all of them are very good this year. A very tough road to get past.

I think it gives us the breathing room to get healthy. Green Bay winning 2 snd Chi losing 2 is a longshot.
Get people right for week one of the tournament

As fans, we don't often look at the financial / business angle of home playoff games. But, I wonder if the opportunity to host one or two home playoff games and the associated financial windfall plays a part in these decisions. If you play eight regular season home games, you can increase gameday revenue by 25% if you host two more home playoff games.

This is a tough one for me. I hear you about resting players but I can also see making an argunent trying for the division. As the 7 seed we give up any chance for a home game. Getting the 2 or 3 seed leaves that door open.
Which one has more value, resting players, or having a home game or two going forward.

That's an interesting take on the lowered pressure.

I would've guessed the lowered pressure would be one more reason for the Packers to relax and drop their intensity causing them to screw up. Maybe you're right. Perhaps they just choke under pressure.

I wonder if the Packers caught this bug from the Bears. Now the Bears take it West. Hope we sit Evan Williams. I almost would rather see Love start if he clears because Malik has the shoulder and an illness. We want him healthy in the postseason as well.
