Get Melton some reps. He could afford to get popped a few times.
Im for going for the division title. The vikes had nothing to play for but team pride, a powerful motivator. I see the lions campbell, goff , doing the same vs the bears. Be a spoiler, finish your season with pride and dignity. Campbell wont accept anything less from his team.
If we win this weekend and the bears lose to the 49rs i would want GB to go all out to get the division.

Yes it may be a longshot for us to win our last 2 and for the bears to lose their last 2 but it was a longshot for the vikes to beat the lions, it was a longshot for the bears to beat us in the final few minutes. If longshots are winning the races right now then go with the flow and put your money on the longshots.

Found out that Melton caught the Bear bug as well. So he is sick also.

a bummer to hear that, but then again the bears are next in line to feel the lions wrath. Either way is fine with me.
If GB sits Love, Watson, Reed, Tom, Williams, er al, then that will be 3 weeks rest before playoffs. I would rather be healthy on the road then injured at home.

If Love et al are ready I'd say play them and go for the win. Bears have a tall order playing the Niners and then the Lions and could lose both. Not likely but def possible. If Chicago beats the Niners then hey, give everyone the week off vs. the Queens.

If Love is iffy, then don't play him and settle for the 7th seed. Sounds like Malik should not play in any case.

Healthy but very rusty. Like in 2011 against the Giants or 2021 against the 49ers.

Moving forward I guess it comes down to where do you want to be in the seedings.
Right now we are 7 so we get the 2, most likely the bears. If we manage to get the division things flip and we can become the 2 or 3 depending on how the eagles do. If we are the 3 seed we most likely will get one of the west teams... all of them are very good this year. A very tough road to get past.
Yes.
Much will get cleared up this weekend. If Chicago Wins or GB loses you naturally get a Bye week for key Starters.

However if Chicago Loses and GB Wins? Either the #2-3 seed is in play and I really think you have to play for that. It’s too advantageous as those can often lead to repeated home games and just an easier total pathway.

HFA in the playoffs hasn't mattered for the Packers since the Holmgren days. I really want to play the Bears in the first round though - that seems like the Packers' best chance for at least one playoff win.

Last season the AFC 2 seed Bills lost by 3 points in the Championship game, the NFC 2 seed Eagles Won the Super Bowl they had 5 of 6 cumulative home playoff games to assist.
-Both 3 Seeds (Tampa/Baltimore) went 1-2 and played 3 of 3 home games

As far as the NFC Playoff picture the bucs or panthers appear to be the weakest of the teams. Also this year Ive felt the eagles were vulnerable. They are not as good as they were last year. They havent fallen off a cliff like the chiefs, but they are definitely down a few notches. I feel we can take them if need be.
Its those teams in the west that will be the mountain to climb. But Im getting ahead of myself.
My biggest concern right now is having to pkay the re-energized vikings the last game. I know, I know their QB isnt very good so they may not score a ton of points but their D was ridiculous vs the lions. Goff was turning into a punching bag. They were on him so quickly they forced him to make throws before he wanted to leading to incompletions or INTs
I would hate to have to use up a ton of resources or maybe sustain more injuries to get by them.
I guess this weekend will give us a,better view of things. If we lose or the bears win no need to put anyone in harms way. If the reverse happens and the division is still on the table, well thats a different story we will have to face.

Excellent point. Holmgren's teams could run up to 70% of the time with their balanced attack (Levens and Bennett). This team can be a little run heavy but still relies on the pass and precision route timing for most chunk plays.

And Holmgren threw a lot of screens and also used a FB most of the time.

I would add that in order to secure the #2 seed, we would also need the Eagles to lose against either Bills or Commanders. In all likelihood, a 3 seed isn't going to get a second home game, and would likely result in a conference semifinal in Philly. I would say that if either Bears or Eagles win this weekend, week 18 versus Vikings should be "rest and recovery."

@games Looks like you might get your wish.

Jordan Love ruled OUT vs Ravens (Tom Pelissero)

This is fine. It’s really a toss up for me and honestly if Love got hurt permanently? I’d be pretty unsettled. We’ve got our spot reserved in the back row, let’s fight our way to the Wedding table

Also will Detroit just protect Goff and Sit him? Can you imaging if Goff got hurt in Week 18 in a meaningless game the fans would light torches and perform unlawful assembly! :giggle::roflmao:
Or the fans would be fine with it because he would have many months to recover. And no matter how your team is doing no fan likes to see their team lose...

Not if he blew an ACL or Achilles or similar. Then you’re talking missing 1/2 season at minimum. Personally I wouldn’t be playing Goff but I fully realize Dan Campbell goes for it on 4th n 2 from his own 25 yard line!

Unlikely Bills could beat out the Pats but they want the highest wild card they can get.

Hopefully Willis is awesome Saturday and gets a Justin Fields type of contract netting the Packers a 4th rd compensatory in 2027.
Fields signed a 2 year 40 million dollar contract with 30 million guaranteed. Or so I just read. What would Willis have to get to net us a 3rd rounder? Does the fact he was only here two years come into play at all?

Interesting ? @gopkrs

It’s not that easy, but certainly $$ factors. It seems that contract gets the attention, but playing time is also huge. Meaning Makik can’t be one of a rotisserie carousel of QB’s. Then compensatory formulas also factor performance and Postseason accolades for likely fringe of round players.

Just my guess but his value sky rocketed at Chicago. Just throwing out a guess he took himself from 5th RD grade to Solid 4th RD grade. Maybe maybe he can improve on that if he just goes out with a career performance. Yet we spent a 7th? On him. Pure Brilliance by Gutey.
