How did that game go scoreless from the 8th inning through the 18th? That seems impossible, but there it is, it happened.

Thanks CC, and thanks for your great work on the weekly prediction contest. Next year I'll join early. It's still a blast to play!
The relief pitching was excellent. They were pumped up and throwing hard. The Jays got thrown out at the plate and third base a few times. It was pretty tense and the hitters were tight. Daulton Varsho made several excellent running outfield catches, until Freddie Freeman hit the ball too far over the wall.

I played a partial season in the first season that I tried this contest. I never could quite catch up to the others, but with a few bingos you could catch some of the full season players. Good luck!

True. After I'd missed a number of weeks I started out at the bottom of the standings, gained a little ground but held station in last place. Couldn't catch the rabbits. I remember @Pkrjones (perhaps) said some bs like; "A couple of correct scores and you can catch up." Now I'm telling heyjoe4 the same thing. It's true, but it's tough to get those scores right. I hit two in one weekend, so now I am that mechanical bunny.:whistling:

2 games for the price of one. I did not check it but does the WS play the extra innings games the same as the regular season with a runner on 2nd to start an inning? Or do they follow the traditional system? That would make a small difference.

No. They rightly (imo, for playoffs) play it the old fashioned way. It makes a big difference. John Schneider will be forever questioned about pitching to Ohtani on the 7th inning. Irregardless, the game was a classic.

Caution! Glory days story.
Over 47 years ago I played my last game of organized baseball when I was 16 (almost 17). We had traveled for a provincial single game playoff. I got on base with hits twice in the game and only advanced to third base. It was a close game so I didn't try to steal any bases, which I was good at. I was left at third base in the early innings, and in the top of the ninth. We lost the game 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth on a passed ball. I always wished that I could do it over again with a stolen base attempt. On a positive note, that was the most fun I ever had on a baseball team. Ironically, I played third base. Summer jobs kept me away from baseball after that.

Last season you were the Cinderella team. Poppa San was up and coming. And we knew one of these years Old School would break out. Voyageur is a future HOFER.

Good question on the runner placed at second during the regular season. I'm gonna guess that isn't done in the playoffs.

That was in the regular season. Daulton tripped near the warning track going for the ball, and while getting up managed to catch the ball with the backhand grab.

Yes. You always wish you could do it all over a different way. But think of the plays you DID make.

You won it all in 2023. Back when you could picks bingos. You're very good at picking winners too.

Sorry bout Da Blue Jays CC.
LA and Ohtani were just a bit too much.
They played the Series much like they played all season. The Dodgers showed great resilience
to come back from two games down, and then three runs down in the final game. So close, the Dodgers were only "a bit" too much. It was certainly riveting and a tad stressful watching last night.

The Dodgers payroll of $321mil/yr is why they win... more than double the MLB average. Huge disparity and the league doesn't really care... the "tax" is a joke & doesn't deter LA or the 2 NY teams from spending $$. :(

We have a big market team too, and the Jays spent crazy plenty at $255 million US. LA also has the advantage of playing in a more desired location for most MLB players.

I was outside Wrigley Field for the Bartman game in 2003. Trust me I understand stressful try being up 14 with four minutes to go and your team being down one with 50 seconds to go.......
I swear to God sometimes I hate being a Chicago fan...... But not today!!!!!!!!!
