I've got to make a call here. In the interest of fairness conditional picks like Ty's Baltimore pick aren't permitted. So I have to go with the primary option. Although the pick could be revised on Sunday morning.

Oh sorry for the record I assumed I had to have it declared before games. I didn't expect you to take it as is, hence why I bolded the original. Apologies, could have noted that better.

You would still have to send in a noted change if Lamar is declared inactive before Sunday kickoff.

Calm down everybody I’m just thinking this thing through still. I’m looking for a loophole that will catapult me back into mediocrity!
Like a contest back hole time warp :coffee:

Vikings have 3rd and 1 near their 40 and punt on 4th and 1. The difference between Detroit and Minnesota.

Got crazy busy at work today and I forgot to send in my pic today. Y'all can vote on it, but I would have chose Minnesota to win so y'all can decide.........
I'm really just kidding cause I don't think there's a chance that they come back with Carson when at the helm, but hey stranger, things have happened!!!

Anyone who picked MN tonight hasn't been paying attention to our injuries on the O-line. We have a Guard starting as our center, both Tackles are out, and one of our guards is out. We haven't had the same 5 players on the o-line for a complete game so far.

What is fascinating is that the odds makers look at the Ravens game the same way although Baltimore has had other injuries. I guess the comparison is much like the 2 years when Rodgers broke his collar bones with us and we did not have much in the way of a backup.
Hey milani, is Lamar Jackson still out? Just shows how important an elite QB is to a team. And yeah, when Rodgers went down with clavicle injuries - for weeks - we did not have solid backup - and by that I mean a backup who could play .500 ball until the real starter returned.

Well you were certainly right. But the Chargers put a whipping on the Vikings. A decimated OL is a good reason.

He practiced, but his week 8 status is still TBD.

The Vikings not only have a decimated offensive line, but they don't have a QB identity either. McCarthy's injury hurts, and now the injury to Wentz. They're snake bit.

The Packers learned years ago that you need to use players who can effectively play multiple positions on the line effectively if you want to maintain some sort of strength going forward. The Vikings haven't got that luxury at this point. I don't doubt that those injuries have led to their QBs taking some hits that might not have been nearly as severe with a line that wasn't hurting.

If they do heal and get their team on a level keel, they could be in the playoffs Being 3-4 at this point doesn't eliminate them from anything.

As far as coaching, they have a pretty good staff.

My problem is, I don't like the Vikings and hope they flop but at the same time, I believe the words "credit where credit is due" goes above my personal feelings about them. They are "not" a rivalry to the Packers. They're the snot nose kids who came to the party late, shoot their mouths off about how good they are, and never deliver on their promises.

Yep. I would stand by my mistake had I made one on flipping to JJ at QB. It’s totally understandable if you’re 8-9 like the 2022 Packers were? Sure go ahead and flip out QB you have nothing to lose. They could’ve given Darnold a 2yr $30Mil annual with a hard contract out in 2027 and made it work. Using a signing bonus and pushing $20m cap into 2026.
JJ was coming off an injury with very little live action so give him time. Also if Darnold goes down like we saw last night their QB? Slide him in! He’s a great backup option in the meantime.
I would’ve given JJ another year of learning the nuances and let Darnold continue. Then they could trade Darnold for a 2026 Draft pick. MN would’ve still have 2+1 years of QB $$ (5th year). Instead Darnold is on a rampage again as a Top 5 area QB. They let him go while he’s peaking after a 14 Win season and put more competition in the NFC over in Seattle? You’re just adding more obstacles to make Playoffs. Makes very little sense to me and actually shows some impatience there in MN. Not as dumb as Jerry World, but they likely kissed away season. No way does MN rebound from this with our North schedule coming up.
What was the big hurry?

I wonder what the Packers would have done. Hand to Jacobs on 3rd, then throw to Kraft on 4th?
Based on previous Packer situations Love would've thrown a 35 yarder downfield on 3rd, then on 4th lined up trying to get the D to jump off sides & then burn a time out before punting. :(

When they tried running on 3rd & short last week they called an off tackle trap forcing RB to run diagonally to the hole & actually lost yardage on at least 2 occasions.

Yet Kraft is 3/3 100% on first downs in 4th Down. Averaging 2.0 per carry up the gut direct snap.
That next play is about who gets off the ball quicker. With a direct snap to a 256lb Hback and a 220lb RB pushing him, it’s really hard for a D to stop for at minimum a 1.5 gainer. There might be 2 or 3 teams that in a season that even have the personnel to stop that 2 yards in 2 tries (Browns I might respect there etc) If it’s a matter of churning the clock under the 3-4 min mark inside either half just go up the gut immediately upon our snap. Especially between the 40 yard line either side. 1st n 10 at the GB47 and our opponent likely never sees the ball again that Half.

Lamar was full participant Friday at practice but will probably be decided tomorrow. Huntley is the backup. Remember, we faced Huntley there 4 years ago with a one point win.
