Lamar was full participant Friday at practice but will probably be decided tomorrow. Huntley is the backup. Remember, we faced Huntley there 4 years ago with a one point win.
Thanks milani. Huntley was a decent backup, as I recall. I'm really surprised the Ravens are losing so many games.

The Vikings not only have a decimated offensive line, but they don't have a QB identity either. McCarthy's injury hurts, and now the injury to Wentz. They're snake bit.

The Packers learned years ago that you need to use players who can effectively play multiple positions on the line effectively if you want to maintain some sort of strength going forward. The Vikings haven't got that luxury at this point. I don't doubt that those injuries have led to their QBs taking some hits that might not have been nearly as severe with a line that wasn't hurting.

If they do heal and get their team on a level keel, they could be in the playoffs Being 3-4 at this point doesn't eliminate them from anything.

As far as coaching, they have a pretty good staff.

My problem is, I don't like the Vikings and hope they flop but at the same time, I believe the words "credit where credit is due" goes above my personal feelings about them. They are "not" a rivalry to the Packers. They're the snot nose kids who came to the party late, shoot their mouths off about how good they are, and never deliver on their promises.
Good summary of the Vikings and I feel the same. The Bears and now the Lions are real rivals. The Vikings? 0-4 in the SB? Not so much. They have had some very good regular seasons, like last year at 14-3, only to flop in the playoffs.

They'll be lucky to play .500 ball - well 8-9 or 9-8.

I saw where he ran the scout team not the first team. That could indicate he's not ready. I have a hunch he's going to be the backup and if they can keep him off the field they will. It sure makes a difference in game planning for the opposition in situations like this.

When we were there Harbaugh opted to go for 2 to win the game instead of OT. Somehow, we stopped them. Huntley played well.

I feel for the Vikings. But I know I should not. They need McCarthy back. If they lose it is better to do it with a QB that will develop. The Bears did that with Caleb and they are seeing results, although with a better coach. They have 2 games each with both the Packers and Lions. And there is still a lot of football to go.

Week 8 so far

Tynimiller stuck with his original pick of the Ravens and now sits at 10-2 so far. This is 2 games better than any of his competition. There were several close calls for spread bingos, but only one in total (that I found) when Heyjoe4 picked the Packers by 10 over the Steelers. Well done guys.

CR you were very close on the Chicago/Baltimore game. The scores were with the wrong teams...... I thought the Bears would have played much better. Huntley finally came through for the Ravens.

Thanks CC. I admit I was dozing off during halftime.

Those first two drives where we walked away with field goals, or the story of the game.......
I still would like to have seen that pass interference when the defense was trying to get us the ball back with a minute down seven that would've been nice to see but oh well at least the national broadcasting crew had the huevos to talk about it on the air about how bad it was!

And the Bears, overall, are playing much better this year, if inconsistently. They won't be an easy out for any team this season.

I'm impressed with what Johnson has done, and I'm impressed with CW's running ability. He's fast, and smart enough to slide. He has a great arm. He could play a little slower and make better decisions, and he will with time.

After all these decades, has Chicago found its QB? Looks like it.

Growing pains. It takes time for teams to develop. The big thing is management. Are they going to be patient and allow this coaching staff to really get this whole thing working right. History says that might not happen. We'll see as time goes on.

We have gotten through week 8, which was a little strange in some ways. The Jets came back to upset the Bengals early Sunday afternoon to win by a single point. This was an anomaly in week 8, as every other contest was won by double digits, with an average win margin of more than 20 points. Parity had a bye this weekend in the NFL.

@tynimiller was the only top picker to exceed a 75% success rate earning 115 points. Part-time picker @Heyjoe4 scored the only spread bingo of the weekend. If he hangs in there he may be able to catch up with @Calebs Revenge. He just needs more plate appearances. Sorry I'm currently watching baseball, but you know what I mean. Amish Mafia is still the best picker thus far with 82 correct.

It's an endurance contest here. God bless Dalton Varsho. Currently 3:20 am.

Watching the Jays broadcast. Dan Schulman the play by play guy just mentioned that his wife was boarding a plane in Toronto for LA, as they went on the air. Now she's at her LA hotel waiting for her husband to come home from work. That's likely close to six hours just in flying time.

How did that game go scoreless from the 8th inning through the 18th? That seems impossible, but there it is, it happened.

Thanks CC, and thanks for your great work on the weekly prediction contest. Next year I'll join early. It's still a blast to play!
