THIS is one the worst songs EVER recorded and if you say otherwise "You've been lyin' when you shoulda been truthin'". :roflmao:
Bad songs do not become gold records or hit the top of the charts. People at that time loved this music and loved her style. It was the fast and swinging time of the 60s.

@weeds was there. I'm sure his older sisters did their best to emulate her dress and style. Assuming his small town parents allowed them.

And still I'm in the middle of the pack.

The reality is I'm just happy to not be in last place like most of the last 2 years.

You must have a new coaching staff. You can break from the Pack easily if you keep moving the chains.

Same team I've been watching for 35 years...... just different names......
Offense struggles, the defense scores a touchdown, and you still can't get it done done they fold in the end......
I found myself feeling bad for you. I think you’re underestimating the Vikings some. Really the only major change they have from a 14 Win season is Darnold to MCcarthy. As long as JJ plays reasonable level? MN has a 10-11 Win Roster in a tougher Division. It’s not like you got beat by the Giants. Also it’s going to take a new staff a minute to analyze strengths and weaknesses. Even Dan Campbell didn’t come in and flip the Detroit script immediately and that was with Ben Johnson and Aaron Glen he went 3-13-1. Next season? The very next season 9-8 which is good enough to be vying for playoffs. Give your Coach a minute or Two.

Week 1 doesn’t dictate a season. If I was an NFL owner I’d like to see Chicago get in that 7-9 Wins area and maybe beat a playoff contender or two in the back 9 of the season. Then you’re looking positive leaning but still moderately good Draft capital to close the gap.

One other interesting difference with the Vikings, is that while Detroit and Green Bay lost reliable starters to their offensive and defensive interiors respectively, the Vikings made a legitimate effort to upgrade the middle of their offensive line. I think that the Vikings are still a work-in-progress at CB but are pretty stout in most other areas.

That last game of the season in Minneapolis may be huge.

I was in my cups Monday night.
Just wanted to see my shiny new coach explode on to the scene.
Instead my D blew up.
Caleb definitely could've played better but he didn't give up 21 points in the fourth quarter.......

It's the NFL. That's why they don't look at the scoreboard and stop the game after 3 quarters because a team's behind. It wasn't that long ago we had a Packer game in Green Bay where the fans were leaving early which is almost unheard of, and the Packers came back to win. It was against the Saints in 2023.

Great upright bass line made the song. In the early to mid seventies it still got a lot of AM radio airplay. I remember me and my brothers listening to it in the backseat of the car.

Speaking of where you live, my wife and I have just finished season 1 of Hudson & Rex. It's a nice low-key show. I love the scenery. from what I gather most of it has been shot in St. John's? It looks like a very interesting city built from the fishing industry. As I think about it my mouth is watering. I'm a sea food freak as you can guess. Snow crab, lobster, and Atlantic salmon are amazing. in fact, last night I had grilled salmon. On Friday, we're going to an all-you-can-eat buffet where they have baked salmon. It's about all I eat off their tables. I add some shrimp to the mix but that's it.

My favorite TV show is Murdoch Mysteries. Watched every episode several times. Strangely enough, most of my TV watching is out of the UK.

I enjoy a feed of steamed or boiled lobster. 1.5 to 2 lb size are usually the best. Scallops are a can't miss, and fried clams. It's been forever since I've has a feed of steamed bar clams, or bottled quahogs in brine.:inlove: I'm in Fredericton, about 65 miles inland from The Bay of Fundy.

I have visited 9 of 10 provinces, and 27 or more states, yet I've never set foot on Newfoundland or Labrador, to date. From all accounts it's beautiful and has some of the nicest people you will meet in North America. St.John's has lots of colorful square houses making it even more picturesque. It's rugged, rocky, coastal cold, windy and snowy. Gros Morne National Park on Newfoundland's west coast is particularly stunning.

The only thing that precludes me from visiting is that we have a son with Autism at home, and he doesn't like travelling.

I did watch this walk-around of St.John's on YouTube recently. The creator is a Scotsman, and he also has some Nova Scotia content.

My nieces husband is from there

They did a play about the residents giving up their houses on 9-11 when planes were forced to land there

Gander, NL (population 9700) was where they landed 38 trans-Atlantic planes with 6800 passengers on 9/11, inspiring the play and musical. Many of the airports in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick landed and parked overseas bound aircraft that day.

A woman I worked with back then was stranded there for over a week. Could not say enough about how wonderful the people were there.

Who me?
D blowing up is a common problem amongst middle-aged men who watch their team play football.

A while back we had a guy that was always negative nancy

We got embarrassed by Seattle in Seattle 1st game of the year. This guy proclaimed we would not make the playoffs

I bet him we would . If they did he had to shut up as long as the packers were in the playoffs.

Well they made the playoffs and went to the NFCCG vs Seattle . The game they lost at the end

Point is , it’s the 1st game don’t loose hope until it really looks like they won’t change

True, but if he made the throws to his people instead of the grass or feet maybe Viks don’t score 21
