A while back we had a guy that was always negative nancy

We got embarrassed by Seattle in Seattle 1st game of the year. This guy proclaimed we would not make the playoffs

I bet him we would . If they did he had to shut up as long as the packers were in the playoffs.

Well they made the playoffs and went to the NFCCG vs Seattle . The game they lost at the end

Point is , it’s the 1st game don’t loose hope until it really looks like they won’t change
Yes. I remember that one well. I had made a trip to WI and stayed with family. The game Corey Linsley started and got yelled at by Rodgers (Tretter has injured before the season started)
The next week we drove to Milwaukee picked up another friend and then 4 of us went to GB and crashed at my Brothers best friends home and he showed us all the hot spots (bars) in GB that weekend.
The next week was the Jets and our home opener. I remember a sinking feeling it appeared we were heading towards 0-2 early week 2. Then Jordy hit a Big TD, double TE set and he went on a go route for like 80? Plus that Jets DT got booted for fighting with us and we all stood up and waived at him as he left the stadium. Ironically We signed him a few years later in FA, his name escapes me.

Edit : Mo Wilkerson. Who by coincidence was injured Week 3 of the 2018 season against Washington. He underwent surgery and went on IR and never played another NFL snap again

The Jets wss our home opener and was fun because it appeared we were heading towards 0-2. The Jordy hit a Big TD. Plus that Jets DT got booted from the game and we all stood up and waived at home as he left the stadium. We signed him a few years later in FA
The poster was Rodell

Always counted on him to complain if things went bad

Or we had Josh McDaniels as coach cuz his family was tight with him . He even said it was a lock lol

Gander, NL (population 9700) was where they landed 38 trans-Atlantic planes with 6800 passengers on 9/11, inspiring the play and musical. Many of the airports in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick landed and parked overseas bound aircraft that day.
My wife and I spent a night & day in Gander. At the time, it was a refueling stop on our flight from Chicago to Gatwick in the south of England. Upon landing to refuel, they had an emergency light regarding the landing gear, and they needed to replace some parts on it, and they needed to be flown in. We found the people to be friendly then too, even though we weren't invited to stay at anyone's homes, they made sure we were well fed. This was in 1996 if I remember correctly, one of our flights to Madrid. Via Gatwick.

We enjoyed eating moose, a Jiggs dinner, and a great version of pea soup. Being of French-Canadian descent myself, and only 2nd generation US born, pea soup has been a culinary specialty in my family since I was a kid. I asked a life-long Gander resident if they'd ever traveled to the states and he just laughed. He was in his 70s and never gone over 30 miles away from Gander and didn't care that he hadn't. His entire career was working at the airport, and he was quite content with it all. He seemed like one of the most peaceful people I ever met.

Was that Jets matchup a Rex game?

Yes. I think it was a T-Rex game if I remember right. (Snickering over auto-correct nailing someone other than myself)
That was the game in which the Jets threw a TD but it was negated because someone on the Jets sideline called timeout. And Rex knew nothing about it?
