Well I'm rooting for the Rams, I would like to see Davante get a ring. A side bar, I would enjoy seeing Stafford get a 2nd ring, after the Lions traded him for Goff.

The Vikes fired their GM, Kwesi Adopho-Mensa this morning, likely because of his botched '25 QB decisions. Let Darnold & Jones leave in free agency, not pursue AR, hand the reins to JJ - all against O'Connell's desires. QB was their GLARING weakness, so next GM will now have O'Connell in his ear over personnel decisions.

Actually, the O-line was the glaring weakness. At least over the past 2 years. 109 sacks on 4 different QB's in two years isn't on the QBs.

I don't know. Who on the OL did they lose in 2025? Just center Garrett Bradbury and guard Ed Ingram? They flat out released Bradbury and traded Ingram, who wasn't all that great. So how was the 2025 OL different than the 2024 OL?
The Vikings were 14-3 with Darnold under center in 2024, a point of time, which you say that the OL was a glaring weakness. If it was, then it really isn't an offense that you want to hand-off to what amounts to a rookie QB. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that giving McCarthy the starting job backfired on the Vikings, bad OL or not.

If I remember correctly, we had 27 different lineups on the O-line this year due to injuries.
Yikes no wonder the offense, especially the run game, was a bit inconsistent.
It actually makes the great season Love had better. Jacobs took the biggest hit. He never ran behind a consistent group of guys.
We have a lot to look forward to next season. Get a lot of guys back, and improve the CB group and add a starting iDL. Oh and find solid depth for the OL (after deciding who starts).
Mr G and his staff have their work cut out for them.

26, but not that uncommon to have your OL go through a lot of changes during a 17 game season. Which is a big reason a veteran QB like Darnold would have been a better option for the Vikings.
Still trying to find how many OL changes Love endured. 9 in the first 3 weeks is all I can find. But he too had multiple changes on the OL throughout the season.
I guess what I am saying is that I don't think that is that uncommon or at least unexpected to have a lot of shuffling on the OL due to injuries. I will take a veteran QB, with a lot of experience over a rookie in almost 9 out of 10 situations. Had the Vikings gone 3-14 in 2024, I would have totally understood the switch from Darnold to McCarthy.
I believe Raptorman was talking about the Vikings, but yeah we had our OL problems as well.

As for the queens, kinda hard to give JJM a chance to succeed with so many guys in and out of the OL.
But yeah, GB’s OL seemed to change every week. Banks was a bust for the $$$, Walker played poorly at the end, Jenkins out and then Tom gets a serious injury.
Gluten has his hands full this offseason. Although Belton had a good rookie year, and hopefully, Morgan finally finds a home at LT.

O line changes in themselves aren't the big problem imho if you have a good O line coach who is willing to make quick changes when it's not working out. But if you don't have the depth; you're in trouble. If you've got a hand full of guys that you're waiting to mature.
Lineman are some of the most important positions on the field, but it seems like they are difficult to draft reliably.

I think the worst nightmare scenario fur the Vikings is to see Darnold Win a Super Bowl. Can you imagine sending Jordan Love away and he goes to an NFC rival and wins a Super Bowl? Talk about creating an angry fan base.
I said it in here before the season. It just shocked me they didn’t resign Darnold for at least a year and develop JJ Coming off a lost season. Who lets their QB leave after 13-4 season? Had they kept Darnold? there’s a really good chance that The Vikings would’ve been in the playoffs or even knocked GB out. Even outside chance they Win the North with the way both GB and Detroit struggled. Instead they are in a serious QB dilemma.
Well, that's unfortunate for them, because I think that's the most likely outcome. But hey, you never know.

Although Darnold was only there one year. So many Viking QBs over the last 40 years that played there a lot longer.

20/20 hindsight, but it seems like the Vikings threw McCarthy into the starter role way too soon. He needed at least a year of development.
Why didn't they resign Darnold? His stat line from 2024 is pretty damn good. I mean, not resigning Darnold to pave the way for McCarthy while giving them more cap space, as the official line goes, seems like a lot of overplaced confidence in a rookie QB.

Not that it is a 100% correlation with success, but I think this APY On Injured Reserve Lists chart explains the Packers season pretty well. Notice where the Seahawks and the Patriots are on it.

While it gets skewed quite a bit by the loss of Micah, so did the Packers play on defense, IMO.

Replacing one guy for a game or two isn't usually a problem. But when you have 4 starters out, and then have to start moving people around because other guys get hurt, it becomes a real issue. I stopped trying to figure out who was playing each week. It didn't matter because by the end of the game, the line was different.
