I called Nelson being cut...and them signing Graham. But I also call Nelson being resigned for a cap friendly 1/2 year deal.

Maybe this is the way he wanted to restructure his deal? Put him and Graham at the same price that we had just Jordy.

This is really unfortunate. Unless the staff knows he's slipped significantly I don't like it. Restructure - sure. Cut him so the Bears, Vikings or Lions can get him for cheap? Blech!

If there was guy that was going to re-sign at a lower contract, i think it could be him. I guess I won't get to see his dad at my friend's tailgate anymore.

Listen - I love Nelson but this is a business and he wasn't improving it anymore. Most of us don't know what happened behind closed doors, but Nelson gave up on Hundley (IMO) and we need WRs that can win battles no matter who is throwing him the ball. Maybe Nelson will test the market and come back for the minimum, but there are no free lunches in the NFL.

And the other side of being aggressive in free agency.

Sorry Jordy. Thanks for the years of some amazing catches.

if they cut him to re-sign
it would have to be a massive pay cut
otherwise they would have just restructured his existing deal
fingers crossed he wants to be a packer so much he'll take chump change

Hmm, not sure I quite understand this to be honest with you but let’s see if Gute knows what he is doing.

Honestly, if we're releasing Jordy, keeping Cobb, and then paying big money to a washed up move TE that can't block.....man, I already am losing faith in Gut.
