Discussion over, he ain't coming.
The Jaguars claimed former Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Jason Babin off waivers Wednesday, a source close to the player told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Eight teams placed a claim on Babin, and only the Kansas City Chiefs had a higher position in the NFL's waiver claim priority list.

Packers would have kicked tires on him after he cleared waivers, but that clearly didnt happen.

The Saints fan message board had the same theme, ohhh he should come to our team we are winners, we would appreciate him blah blah blah. Group of fans is the same, no matter who they cheer for.

i remember people on here laughing at the Eagles for giving a player they never heard of a huge contract. I wonder if those are any of the same people that supported him being acquired...

You guys think he's gonna get that huge money?
Babin won't be getting anywhere near what his contract number was.

Nobody will claim in on that contract.
Perhaps they'll renegotiate, but most likely he won't get claimed, and will be signing on much smaller short deal.

With a contender who needs a little pass rush help, which plenty of teams do.

Who said that a weak team would claim him?

Yeah a lot of teams put claims in on him despite the pricetag. Wow.
Not sure what a 2-9 team like Jax stands to gain by adding the old guy at that pricetag. But they weren't the only ones who thought his pricetag was fair, wow.

There is a reason why so many teams that put in claims for him are bad teams.

And this is the last we'll hear from Jason Babin during his career. Exiled to Jax. Deserving for a player that allegedly quit on his team.

His entire team quit.

Not sure what a 2-9 team like Jax stands to gain by adding the old guy at that pricetag.

(a) A few ticket sales or (b) The straw that alienates whatever few Jacksonville fans remain, clearing the way for the move to LA.

The owner is trying desperately to show he's willing to spend. They're doomed.

Scheme shmeme. Frank Zombo "fits" our scheme, doesn't make him a good football player Babin is better than most options we have on our own team. I think he will clear waivers.

Okay, where would you play him then?
