Rodgers is the GOAT. I've said that for years and will continue to say it. I hope and expect 3, 4, 5 years, maybe even more of him in Green Bay, although it looks like he may keep people guessing each offseason.

Regarding this playoff thing and not enough Super Bowls, some may whine about that. Not me. I'm perfectly happy feeling the joy of victory about 14 out of 17 regular season games. Beyond that, it's frosting on the cake.

If given a choice of winning it all this year, and then Rodgers is done - the team nosediving accordingly OR having another five or so great seasons but not doing much in the playoffs, which would ya'all choose? Give me that latter absolutely.
I want my 2 Dollars (2 more SB) ;)

I think that overall Packers fans are way more critical of Rodgers than supporters of other teams.
Oh o o o (waiving my finger and with a New Delhi accent) Absolutely positively, unequivocally not. The ones I’ve been around think he’s a …. I said I’d be nice (pause) I’m being nice.

To be quite frank. The fans I know can’t stand the guy. They have little to no respect for him as an individual.
As a side note, I'm convinced fans of most other teams would be extremely happy if Rodgers was their quarterback.
I think you could say that about any great QB. Starr, Bradshaw, Montana, Mahomes, Brady, ….
The ones that had picked Rodgers (which is obvious many would)
I think many of those same fans would feel just like us. I’m happy with him as a player but he’s really quite irritating on a personal level.
That said, he’s actually gotten a little better lately, God has a way of humbling us.

Those non NFL fans you talked about think higher of a school teacher who protects their kids than Aaron Rodgers. Just to put things in perspective.

I've been watching the Packers for over 70 years, including home and road games at times, and as good as Favre and Starr were, as well as guys before that, I believe that Rodgers is the best QB I've seen play in a Packer uniform.
I do also.

That’s a really amazing legacy. Lots of great games. See I value your experience (fan legacy). I wish I could watched Starr but I’m not only enough.

No doubt about it, I think most Packer fans are just a little too young to remember when we didn't have guys like Favre and Rodgers under center. Unless you've seen that era, maybe there's a little lacking in the respect for what these guys brought to the Packer game.
Exactly. The bad ol' days extended almost without exception from the end of Lombardi until Favre and then Rodgers came along. Same as that other old guy, I remember the Ice Bowl and the first two Super Bowls and the later SBs also, but it's those bad years in between (and I'm actually old enough to remember the bad times before Lombardi) that make me value having 13 or 14 wins in the regular season over one day of extreme joy with a Super Bowl.

And hell yeah, it's kinda disgraceful that there isn't more appreciation of Rodgers than there is. Without him, we may not drop to the bottom, but it's mediocrity for sure if you compare it to almost every season out of the past thirty or so.

Unfortunately. My fanship started in the early 70’s. So I didn’t get the luxury of really seeing a winning QB until maybe Majik Man??

Unfortunately, the game of Football isn’t what it was back then and even though I watched many losing seasons? Had such respect for those earlier players. Respect, Dignity, Faith, honor, community… that was a part of culture at that time. We’ve lost that today in trade for money, greed, fame, individual accolades (cough cough) I’ll stop there as not to sound the truth trumpet too much.

I know there’s people with those attributes in sports but they are waning at a level never seen before. You can’t even vocalize that you expect our QB to show up early… and lead by example.. without people wanting to fight you. I still expect more than stats from our QB. I could give 2 pieces of you know what about a SB to be truthful. How about being a role model to our kids?? How about thinking about the team??

I feel like I sound like Red from that 70’s show and maybe I’m turning into him. Get a job!! J/K

I apologize I know I can’t expect any of that anymore. The sport has dulled for me with the rise of individualism.

Whoa that's a throw back! John Lennon recorded a song "What You Got" after Yoko threw him out. Same refrain.

I'm old school. Not quite covered wagon era, but I will say that my Father actually sat on Buffalo Bill's lap when Bill's traveling road show stopped where they lived.

Yep. Everyone remembers the SB winners. No one remembers the losers. I have to think hard to remember who the Rams beat last year. So yeah, give me the Lombardi. We all remember February 97. We all remember February 2011. And we all remember the Ice Bowl and the first two SBs (well, if you're as old as me you remember.......).
We also remember the playoff collapse against Settle, 4th and 26th, and even the Elway helicopter. But that's for all the wrong reasons.

Good point. When it's your team on the losing end, you do remember. I can still see that Seattle on-sides kick bouncing off Bostic's hands......... And I can still see that blocked punt from this January.

Wow, if your 70 years figure is accurate, you're even older than I am - slightly anyway. I first started listening to games on the radio when Tobin Rote was throwing to Billy Howton - 1954 I think.

I remember those days. I'd already attended Packer games by 1954. I don't remember who was doing the radio broadcasts at that time, but I do remember when they went on TV and Ray Scott was the announcer. He did the games alone, no side kick. Just his wife, George was there handling stats and things for him as he broadcast.

I think I started listening to their games around 1949 or 1950.

How old am I? Well, about 10 years ago, they found a mummified dog in a cave in Northern Wisconsin that they thought might be 5,000 years old, I looked at it, and told them his name was Rex.
I`ve been very lucky with my boyish good looks. I`ve never looked over 50 :whistling:. It can be a curse at times though....lol

Geez I feel like a kid here. I was a teenager during the Lombardi era. (The real Lombardi, not the trophy.)

The first QB I remembered with the Packers was a guy named Jug Girard. Tony Canadeo was a bull at HB. I think that was 1949.

Sometimes I forget that there are people who are older than I am. I think most of them are on this forum.

I was going to say cheeky young pup but then just before I came on here I`d just got an email from a company about planning my funeral
You know you're getting old when the AARP starts sending you ****. The funeral stuff is a bit much.........

I had a total knee replacement in March and am having another in July. They're supposed to last 20 years. I want my money's worth!
