Agreed...and that's true even now. I think the offense you saw in Week 17 against the Vikings clearly missed Charles Woodson that game.

It's simply amazing how he plays defense. He's basically a really fast linebacker.

Agree with everything above. Woodson's tackling and coverage in the middle of the field is a real asset. He also has great football instincts, which are often more important than the "measurables" on the defensive side of the ball (see Heyward, Casey). Not really an outstanding cover corner any longer but his current skill set is so important against many of today's offenses and we should be grooming a replacement because he's unique in our secondary. He's earned a Donald Driver sort of "as long as he wants to stick around is fine by me" respect from this fan...
