I'm tired of this team putting their fate in the hands of a stupid coin toss. Why do we gotta do that? Also, with that little time left, there'll be more pressure on the opposing team's kicker to either make a 60-yard FG, or go for a hail mary.

I say no more playing for OT, we get jinxed. Go For 2.

I did not think they should go for 2 today. I did,( and still) think they should have gone for 2 in the Arizona playoff game.

When was the last time Rodgers actually got a chance with the ball in OT? They showed a stat saying this was his first OT win but not how many were ended before he had the chance.

Answered my own question. Dolphins, 2010. The tie with the Vikings in 2013 did not have Rodgers playing.

There's no such thing as a "jinx". That's just superstition.

Offensive notes from Packers/Bengals:

1. Aaron Rodgers had absolutely no time
2. Running game was non-exisitent
3. Martellus Bennett cannot catch a football

Now please tell me why you think this team should have gone for 2 in this game? Opposed to a 50/50 shot at winning the toss and giving AR 10 minutes with the ball to score being one 50 or trusting our defense who only gave up 3 points in the second half to make a stop if we lose the coin toss, then giving AR the ball?

But if we`d gone for the two and failed, history shows he`d a been a complete **** and cost us the game. You have to do what you have to do to get the right result surely ?

I think, as I recall, it took the Pack 3 kicks at the cat to get it from the freeking ONE YARD LINE and even then, it was thrown. The Pack weren't controlling the line of scrimmage well enough to even consider the notion of going for two. Take the all-but sure point to tie and play to win defensively if you lose the flip.

The difference yesterday was Rodgers got the ball. OT rules still stink but at some point, your D has to function or you're an also ran.

1. That is why Richard Rodgers and Lance Kendricks are on this team.

2. Thank God this time they did, but they were stopping the Cardinals too until Larry Fitzgerald went melee on us. When you got young players like King in this secondary, you never know if the Bengals might call an AJ Green double move deep ball and hit it. In other words, going into OT has bit us in the butt before so I like the idea of skipping it.

As to that 50/50 thing, it's 50/50 on a 2 point play, and in case you didn't know, there are plenty of teams out there who are now making going for 2 a regularity. And just cuz we won this time does not mean I'm changing my mind about getting rid of the coin toss for OT.

There's not a one size fits all answer. Its a decision that should be entirely based on the circumstances using all the information available.

- What way is the momentum swinging? Have you just come down from 14 and feel good about your chances to keep rolling in OT?

- What is the weather like? Is a 33 yard FG likely to be an adventure?

- Opposing defense, and your offense, what are your odds of converting a 2?

- How is your defense playing? Have they been holding up okay or getting shredded leaving you with little chance of coming back in OT?

In this case, at home, we had all momentum, defense was playing well in the 2nd half, and the conditions were perfect for kicking. No problem playing for OT with our situation there.

Watching Rodgers post game interview I think he said he had something like a total of 6 attempts in all those overtime games prior to Sunday. It's pretty hard for him to have an impact if the defense (or coin flip) never gets him the ball.

I'll never get over the pain of losing two overtime games in which Rodgers never touched the football. In back to back years at that.

That is amazing.
As pointed out though Aaron only had several games where he contributed to that OT statistic. The most notable I think was the 2009 season WildCard round Pick 6 he threw to Arizona. More than half of these games he never touched the ball in OT. Several were before the OT rules changed regarding sudden death

Was burning in the shade, but totally worth it. Lambeau is the best.

Never said he was the reason why he was 0 and 7..

Just odd they never won an ot game when he was the qb
