IIRC, our main concern was with injuries, which is why he opted to go to Miami.

I had heard he went to Miami because it was best for his family, since he already had roots in Tampa Bay.

That may be the reason he went to Miami, but I remember reading that we had big issues with his health too...

I talked to Bob McGinn about this guy earlier this week, and McGinn said someone in the know (from Miami) told him that this guy is done. Let me find the exact quote..... Here: Clifton Smith was finished. I didn;t know that at the time. He was horrible in two games for Miami and worked out just terribly for NO last week.
But I agree 100% we NEED A LEGITIMATE RETURN SPECIALIST FOR ONCE AND **** FOREALL.
For years now, we've heard the lip service from Teddy that special teams is a focus, blah blah blah... but he keeps giving us crappy new punters, and keeps sticking some positional stiff at KR. I want guys like Josh Cribbs or Hester, Desmond Howard, Dante Hall who are hungry and fearless to make a name for themselves running the ball back. I don't want a wide receiver who basically just doesn't want to get hit hard and hurt.

I figured something must be wrong with him if he wasnt picked up yet.. Sucks, I agree with you about needing a good return specialist.. The Queens wouldnt have won that game without Harvin, and we don't even have a threat of that. I think Tramon could be pretty decent, but I hate having him back there with a chance to get hurt, we need him more on D than on punt return...
