This is just as challenging:
1) The 1962 championship. Pack 16-7 over the Giants.Virtually as tough as the ICE BOWL because it was on the road and the winds were blowing continually up to 40 mph. It was impossible to pass the ball down field. So it was a street fight in the trenches. Kramer kicks 3 FGs. Nitschke has his hand in 2 fumbles. Taylor carries the ball over 30 times, his tongue is bleeding, he gets pneumonia within the next few weeks. The Giants are trying to stomp him every play but he scores our only TD. Willie Wood gets kicked out. Willie Davis hits Tittle and forces an INT. Giants announcers were in awe of our defense.
2) 1965 playoff against Baltimore. Starr gets leveled on the first play as the Colts score. I thought we were doomed. We are down 10-0 at half even though the Colts are playing their 3rd string QB. Bratkowski drives us down for 3 scores including the OT FG by Chandler. 13-10 Pack
3) 1966 championship in Dallas. 34-27 Pack. All we heard for 2 weeks was Doomsday to meet Bart Starr.
We had not faced an offense like the Cowboys before. 77,000 fans on the road. Cowboys block an extra point and are 2 yards away from sending it to OT. But the power of Lombardi transcended to the goal line defense and we stopped them.
4) ICE BOWL
After that it is hard to discern from the games from 1993- 2010. There are about 7 that hit me including the big upset in Frisco in 1995, the Holmgren homecoming.
