Smack was 4/5 during family night inside Lambeau. The LS is out so I wonder if that affects the accuracy. I don't know how long he's been out.

The leg strength is there. I hope he gets enough live game kicking over the 3 games. Coming opening day in Minneapolis he will be needed whether a FG, PAT, or a kickoff.

He actually kicked a 62 or 61 yarder in warmups, and Smack actually went 6-7 during the practice, missing from 51, not 4-5 as was mentioned in an earlier post.

Yeah I think Smack is going to be just fine. I think in his Rookie season he’s probably a going to be about average range with some long term upside.

Anthony Campbell (iDL) continues his disruption with another blocked pass. I think that’s 5 Passes blocked and that’s not just lucky. He has a good high jump and at 6’6.1” and long 34.5” arms. Plus he’s relatively explosive with a 30” vertical and 111” Broad Jump and thats a problem for below average height QB’s (or longer FG tries). Start doing the math he’s covering up around 11’ vertical

Big Jon Ford is playing himself into consideration at NT. He found himself in the backfield on a pair of run stuffs and making a legit push to fill out our IDL depth.

Our 2025 RD7 selection, John Williams is getting notice. Gute said he’s literally played all 5 OL position and they are now going to press him in Preseason to figure out which position they can develop him best. Might’ve gotten a diamond in the rough there late RD7.

Monk has seen the bulk of Guard reps with the 1’s while Aaron Banks is held out. From what I’m hearing is he’s a continuation of a dominant performance against the Vikings last year. He’s finally turned a corner

Yes I remember.
Well apparently he’s not playing like a late 7th Rounder. The guy is impressing early and often. When a head coach or coordinator claims they’ve got someone who is very versatile and they have to find out which position suits best this Preseason, that’s very good sign.

We do have to see some development starting 5 about was 100% disjointed last season. Yet with another year across the board + much better competition behind them we should see a tick better OL play imo

Packers have signed WR Kisean Johnson and waived/injured S Johnathan Baldwin II and CB Marlon Jones.

Baldwin will hopefully end up on the Packers IR and have another shot in 2027.

Just a general question and I am throwing it out here, since this thread seems pretty well followed.

Why do people feel the need to start a whole new thread on anything that pops into their heads? IF we all did that, there might be 50+ new threads created daily. For the most part, a lot of these new thread discussions could fit seamlessly in an existing thread.

I was going to make a whole new thread to discuss this, but thought that might look hypocritical.

100% agree. It's kinda ridiculous honestly. If you have a roster thought or discussion this year - just put it here....having forty different threads that discuss various roster issues here and there make it kinda like having ten different spots in your silverware drawer for forks, and also for spoons, and also for knives.....

Wait....so your logic is you only replace elite players? Whenever you lose a heavy or high snap count contributor, the future is unknown - and somewhat of a risk. I don't know the article as you didn't cite or mention it - but know that majority of the quick hit site articles are dribble written by AI or idiots that AI would be better than. Clearly unless written at a specific time they missed the fact that both were replaced. We drafted Sorrell and also get Oliver back this year to "replace" Gary while also trading for Zaire Franklin to replace Quay's snaps.

Will either or both be a successful covering of those departures....only time and games will illustrate, however Zaire has proven quite capable and for most it is the assumption he'll be at worst as good as Quay.....the edge spot replacement for Gary is tougher to gauge AND tough for folks to not envision the younger more dominant Gary than the 2025 version of Gary which performed quite mediocre and that Gary is much easier to replace, but that doesn't mean a sure thing.

Years ago, I used to try to fill myself/knowledge with online Packer articles, since they weren't all that plentiful or new. Today? One could spend their entire day filling themselves up on all the clickbait BS out there.

While I love informative stuff about the Packers, I almost miss the days where all we knew, was garnered from the 1-2 articles we got from our local newspaper and what we observed for 3 hrs on game day. If you wonder what a newspaper is, you must be under 25.

Years ago, I used to try to fill myself/knowledge with online Packer articles, since they weren't all that plentiful or new. Today? One could spend their entire day filling themselves up on all the clickbait BS out there.

While I love informative stuff about the Packers, I almost miss the days where all we knew, was garnered from the 1-2 articles we got from our local newspaper and what we observed for 3 hrs on game day. If you wonder what a newspaper is, you must be under 25.

I remember Ray Nitschke's Packer Report that I would receive in the mail. It came out of Sun Prairie.

I have not followed every team but I have GB. This Roster is the best assembled since at minimum our 2021 season. If Marshawn Lloyd is a go we’re going to also pack a punch at RB. He’s makes smaller unassuming runs mixed with explosive plays when least expected. After watching Josh in that Chicago game if he just gets slightly better blocking (which Rasheed couldn’t do) he’s very formidable in grinding.
