I guess 100 NFL Players and 2 Dozen NFL Employees aren't being paid enough and they decided to make ends meet by illegally reselling their Super Bowl tickets for more money than they are allowed to.
Once again though, the NFL can't even get the fines right. Players are only being fined 1.5 times the face value of the tickets and club employees are being fined 2 times the FV of the tickets that they resold.
First, I am guessing that these people got more than 1.5 or even 2 times the FV, so it doesn't seem like much of a fine, if any. Second, whose making more money, the players or the club employees?
It doesn't sound like the investigation has been completed yet. If I had to guess though, I bet way more than 100 players made money off of reselling their tickets (if they bought them). The CBA allows players on all 32 teams to be able to purchase two tickets for the Super Bowl games. If that includes Practice Squad players, that means NFL players can scoop up 4,416 SB tickets. No wonder SB ticket prices are so fricking high! The average cost of a ticket, according to the article below, was $13,448.66.
