That Brewers team was one of the best ever in Milwaukee, and they were better than the Cardinals. Too bad they couldn’t close the deal.

Until I watched this show I didn't realize Vuckovich had a torn rotator cuff during th '82 playoffs. His fastball was only selectively used as a decoy pitch & he relied on curves & off speed pitches throughout playoffs. Unfortunately they had lost Fingers to an elbow injury in September... could've used another starter so that Vuck didn't have to pitch game 7 .

Man .... that season absolutely KILLED me. Soooooooo pharckin' close. Damned Cardinals (still the best uni's in MLB) ... but THAT one still haunts me. Even moreso than SB 32 and I'm not kidding.... and I'm a casual baseball fan at best. Couldn't play the game because I couldn't hit a heifer in the a** with a scoop shovel ... but I loved the game anyway which explains my love of baseball movies. Anyway, '82 was a HUGE heart breaker for this ol' geezer.
