The Bears worked out three kickers last week.

only because of injury. Take a look at who they worked, Rackers and Cundiff, they're just as bad.

Crosby was 0-for-2 today, 2-for-3 against Detroit and 3-for-4 against Minnesota. You can't tell me that you have any confidence in him. McCarthy doesn't seem to have too much faith in him since the Packers went for it twice on fourth down today.

Crosby no different than an injured Gould both inspire zero confidence. Gould can't physically kick. Crosby can't mentally kick. If Crosby has to hit a 40+ FG in a close playoff game and misses way wide and is the deciding factor in the game the roof will blow off in Packerland. Why take that chance as a franchise? They are playing Russion Roulette if they don't bring in a fg specialist or replace Crosby alltogether.

The holds were fine on both of them today. On the first one, it looked like he planted his left foot too far forward and left. The second one looked like the wind got hold of it. Either there was a sudden gust, or he misjudged the wind.

Lots of misjudging the wind and poor mechanics this season to the tune of 58.6% Even McCarthy has said Mason needs to step it up once again in today's post-game conference. I find it interesting that in the comments I heard I didn't hear a defense this week of Mason Crosby by MM just a edict that Crosby must step it up. A sign of things to come on the placekicker front?

Masons got the leg to make the long ones. He'll break out of thin user have to be patient. Everybody wanted Jones head last year.

Not everyone. Mostly what I recall about Jones was a lot of people thinking we'd be better off trading him if we had to to keep Driver, who wasn't even activated today.

Big difference there. We had what 5 other WR's to throw the ball too. We only have one FG kicker. Having the worst FG kicker in the leauge going into the playoffs who has missed FG's in 8 straight games? Why should one think its going to improve at any point the rest of this season. To big of a risk!

BINGO..... I feel like I have defended James Jones and Ryan Grant hard for the past 4 years, and Finley to an extent.
Jones is a mismatch for most DBs because he is pretty big, but very strong. Sure, like Finley, he's had some drop issues.
But so has Jordy, Jennings, and Driver. So did Sterling Sharpe.

Finley had at least 2 big 3rd down conversions today that resulted in points later.
And on that bad throw to a covered Jennings late in the game on 3rd down, where Rodgers was bailed out by the ticky-tacky call on Peppers (which I loved to see), Finley was WIDE OPEN UNCOVERED in the same area, for a first down.

Rodgers didn't see him because he had his mind set on Jennings.
This same thing happened early in NY when Rodgers forced it to Cobb and had it picked off. Finley was uncovered on that play too.... and I don't blame J-Mike for being pissed off on those situations.

Not this year. If I'm not mistaken didn't Jones just have his first drop of the year last week?

When your coach doesn't have enough confidence to attempt a 30 yard field goal stay in Chicago.

Crosby should be the highest paid grocery bagger in the nation by the end of the week.

Kickers are a dime a dozen, but not having one that you can count on could be your team's death knell...especially in the playoffs. The Packers can bring in another kicker and be succesful with him without missing a beat. I was willing to give Crosby the benefit of the doubt, but after today I'm more than convinced that he has to go, and that time is NOW. I don't want to come back here in a few weeks just to say "I told you so" after Crosby misses what would have been an easy post season game wimmer.

It's over. Once a kicker completely loses it he never gets it back. Remeber how Al Del Greco's career ended, or Mike Vanderjagt?

Or, maybe he just farted before he kicked the ball. Or, maybe he just CHOKED! Again! Slumps are one thing, head cases are another. He's good as gone. Packers can't go deep without someone who can be depended on to get it close from 40 - 45 yards. Going for it on 4th down at that distance gives the ball up with good field position. He is their biggest liability at this point. Sorry.

We have to at least look at some guys during the week I think and try them out. Some undrafted FA's maybe? I can't stand up for Crosby anymore. Just when I thought he was getting out of his slump come playoff time, he falls back in it. He had a good 6 year career, made his money, don't want to say it but I think it's time for him to retire. Maybe he can hold on this year, or make a comeback next year, but it just doesn't seem like it.

I'm no kicking expert but the way he's looked all year, that lack of mental confidence has severely damaged his physical approach to kicking.

Locker Room LIVE guys basically acknowledged the kicking issues but said there is NO way you make a kicking change at this point. The WTMJ post game guys made a much bigger issue out of the kicking woes and chimed in that you really can't afford to have zero confidence in your kicker in potential tight playoff games.
